Sorry to totally interrupt here. But I happened to prance back onto the site, after a year of retirement, and it brought a smile to my face to see, that I actually accomplished something on this site! I figured I would piss on some things and laugh at others, and leave, but I am happy to say that I have done SOMETHING that left SOMEWHAT of a mark on the site. Thank you to Shabidoo who kept this thing going, and If I can, I will return sometime and start up a competition of my own, with some twists, and be a judge myself! And yes. Prizes will be fake cookies. Have a good one everyone! Yours Truly --Happymonkey39 LAZAR.gifWeegeeheadbobin.gifDomo kun dance1.gif Dah Meme Master 01:20, September 16, 2011 (UTC)

RE-LIVE HAPPY MONKEY'S AWSOMENESS

CONCEPT

Simple and informal competition. Starts 22.00 UTC (5pm etc) March 2nd. Its a single category competition. 24 Hours. Anyone interested in participiating just needs to sign-up below. Article can be made in any way (main space, howto, unbooks etc...) and if you can come up with a really creative way to do it (without pissing any admins off) then all the power to you.

All extra details and meta judging at my discretion. Roar.

Sign up and send me the idea of a topic (the name of an article that doesn´t exist)

happymonkeycompetition@gmail.com (if you aren´t cofortable with email tell me and we will get it via IRC)

It will not be your topic but will be randomly assigned to someone else.

Around 5 minutes before the competition I will paste your topics on the competition forum.

You have 24 hours to write. It will start at 10 P.M. in the Canada time zone (based on the metric clock). It will be midnight in Greece Mimo. It will be 3am in Turkmenistan Aleister. It will be normal office hours for Lyrithya as I am beginning to suspect that uncyclopedia is her full time job. It will be half past second nap of the morning time in Portugal.

Do what ever you want. Make it an article, HowTo, unbook etc... You will be judged by probably a couple other users as well as myself (depending on stuff), pee review style in a strict, very very strict NON DICK kind of pee reviewing style. And will win based on the agregate of points.

Judging

Final rules were posted here

LAST YEAR

It happened on a bet, impromptu, was fun, informal and there were some NICE entries. The winner was NOT Aleister, MAYBE Lyrithya but they placed in the top three for sure. A few of the articles were featured including Beige which was awsome. For a view of the previous competition, see here.

Contestants

Contest is closed. Thanks for the impressive, helarious, groovy and creative articles. There is no winner, as you are all winners. To see who is the biggest winner:

Contestants, topics, articles, pee reviews, and results can be seen here coming in over the next few days.

EXPECTATIONS

That everyone will break tons of rules, plagerise everything, abuse the system and not be dicks. That the more good of the articles wins and that we pass the more better time of this day. That Justin Biebers head explode by overload of the harmonic vibrations of his own shrill voice.

JUDGES

Shabidoo (Pee Reviewing all articles)

Meganew (Pee reviewing 1/3 articles and giving upto 10 bonus points for the rest)

Magic man (Pee reviewing 1/3 articles and giving upto 10 bonus points for the rest)

Fudgemobile (Pee reviewing 1/3 articles and giving upto 10 bonus points for the rest)

Super Awsome Special Guest Judge

Wilytank (Giving upto 10 bonus points per contestant)

VANDALISM

I didn't win, but thanks for the rewrite of history. My two cents, I think the contest would be more fun if people did what they did in the first HMCompetition, paired off and gave each other a topic right at the starting bell. The topic would then be a total surprise, and would test the ability of the writer to take a totally new topic and work up an article. Some people will be dicks and give a hard topic, others a broad topic. But if we all see the topics ahead of time wouldn't that spoil some of the fun? (full disclosure, the topic format was my idea originally, just so you know that I'm emotionally and ego invested in having it just that way or I will hold my breath until I turn blue. But I believe the other things I said about it too.) Aleister 12:28 24-2-'11
I agree with Al, I wasn't part of the competition last year, but I read Beige, which should count for something, right? Anyway, like I said, Al's idea is better. --Wanna see a magic trick? 16:31, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
My fear was that, since this isnt an impromptu competition, that the titles might not be given at a timely basis (i.e. on time). Which would not be far. Fine, I will make a compromise. I will pair the people off and tell them to give topics (I assigned beige, and I knew it would be hard, but I wasn't being a dick, it was challenging. THAT COULD NOT COMPARE to the one I got, HowTo: Cast a voodoo curse using bones from someone you killed. That was the first article I ever wrote). Anyhoo, if no title is published by say, 5.15pm, I will assign them. Ill come up with a list of them. This is a happy compromise!!?!?
And yes, it was the other way around 1st was 2nd and 2nd was 1st. It was the agregate of two judges. They were both good.
Wait, for the love of god, WHO WON!?!? --ShabiDOO 22:15, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
Why not have them e-mail you the topics so you can post them all at the same time with the names of the people who'll be writing them? Jackofspades.png (talk) 22:26, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
Jack, it sound like a solution, BUT, email wont solve problems of getting the topic just at the beginning of the contest, wont guarentee it arrives on time, and lack of transparency, its good to have the topic posted for all to see (on the user page). Also it means I can track it and if its not done I can assign topics so people can get on with their page. Or do I sound crazy? --ShabiDOO 22:37, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
Just pair everyone off secret-santa style, and have everyone email you a concept for their person. That way you can reveal them at the appropriate time on uncyclopedia. - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon Baloon.gif(Tick Tock) (Contribs) 23:31, Feb 24
Hey, stop expressing my ideas in better-worded ways. Jackofspades.png (talk) 23:36, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
Ahah. Well, in that case there would be no need to pair off anyone. Everyone can email me the name of an article and I can randomly assign it at 5pm (10pm Canadian time zone). I'd have to create another email account, which I guess is not such a big deal. This would save having to pair off each other and the whole timing thing. The more I think about it the more I like it. Hmmmmmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Is there any reason NOT to do it this way? --ShabiDOO 23:56, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
An alternative is to use the pm feature on irc. Then, you don't have to go to the trouble of making a new email. User:Mrthejazz/sig 04:40, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
I have made an account, that took 2 minutes. happymonkeycompetition@gmail.com and so if
anyone doesn't have a problem with using email Ill ask for topics soon ;) OLÉ!! --ShabiDOO 12:56, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
Okay the following is decided. Participant will email me an article topic from now until the day of comp. I will post those topics just before the comp. Email is happymonkeycompetition@gmail.com and conspiracy conspirasts can give it to me confidentialy via IRC. I will pee review all articles, Ill divide the articles amonst the other judges to pee review as well, and remaining judges give a number out of 10 for each of the other articles with no rules for giving the number. 40+40+10+10=100 (per participant). Highest number wins. In the case of a tie, it will be a sudden death fight to a game of ping pong at my house. Spike has definately confirmed he is not in the competition so I have already awarded him 1st place with 100 points. So everyone is competing for 2nd place basically. --ShabiDOO 14:23, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
What, and force all of us also make new emails so you can't track us down? Can't you just use IRC? 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy.png 17:27, 25 February 2011
Oh, I can't read. But will you even be on IRC? 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy.png 17:29, 25 February 2011
I can delete the email after you send it to me. If thats not enough, Ill give you a time Ill be on IRC or ask one of the judges to do so. Okay!?!?! HEY ITS FRIDAY ... GO DANCING OR SOMETHIGN! --ShabiDOO 21:22, February 25, 2011 (UTC)

Excuse me

What is this? We must make an article in 24 hours? --~ Mimo.gifMimomaxus.gifMaxus.gif 14:41, February 25, 2011 (UTC)

Yes Mimo and Maxus. You start the competition at 22.00UTC (23.55 greek time) on March 2, and have 24 hours to write an article. Email me the topic of an article (happymonkeycompetition@gmail.com) and I will assign it to someome and give you someone elses´. Try to be creative, funny and make an article (pics and links and all). The winner will be made president of uncyclopedia for life with the right to ban whoever they want. I have already decided that Spike is the winner. --ShabiDOO 01:05, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

PUBLICITY

Tell your mother, tell your children, tell the mother of your best friend (after you finish up ofcourse). Spread the word. Abortion for all!!! --ShabiDOO 00:27, February 25, 2011 (UTC)

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES !!!!!!!!!!!!!! --ShabiDOO 21:59, February 24, 2011 (UTC)

Someone should make an overheader

Like the Jimmy Wales ones and the Uncyc awards. --Care for a lick? Lollipop Care for a lick? - CONTRIBS - WRITINGS - SHOP - Now adopting! 22:49, February 24, 2011 (UTC)

That would be cool, but again, keeping it informal like, if someone makes a header and the admin machinery puts it up, I only think it should be put up say, the day before the competition and taken down at starting time. And then maybe another banner (perhaps) announcing the results. --ShabiDOO 23:04, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, that'd be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. --Care for a lick? Lollipop Care for a lick? - CONTRIBS - WRITINGS - SHOP - Now adopting! 00:09, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
Drop me a reminder when you want it up and I'll do it. ~Jewriken.GIF 00:19, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
Mordillo, que Mordillito!!! Thanks a million. I´ll remind you the day before ;) (am I to assume that you will make the banner and put it up) Mordilleton! – Preceding unsigned comment added by Shabidoo (talk • contribs)
Mordillo is the gretest around here. --Care for a lick? Lollipop Care for a lick? - CONTRIBS - WRITINGS - SHOP - Now adopting! 00:43, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
I can make it if you want Mordillo. --Wanna see a magic trick? 02:04, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
And, pray tell, what is it? --Care for a lick? Lollipop Care for a lick? - CONTRIBS - WRITINGS - SHOP - Now adopting! 02:54, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
Tell me if you want any of the original images I used to make the banner for the comp --ShabiDOO 12:57, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
We don't need anything terribly complexical... simple text should be plenty, especially for something [as informal (shabidoo)] so small as this. 1234 ~ 16px-Pointy.png 17:30, 25 February 2011
I agree with Lyrithya. Just some text informing the users that this is going to happen. Maybe even slightly humorous (what a concept!). --Wanna see a magic trick? 20:46, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
I disagree completely with Magicman that it should be humorous. It should be off the wall f***ing HELARIOUS! --ShabiDOO 21:26, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
I'll help Magic man make the overheader. --Care for a lick? Lollipop Care for a lick? - CONTRIBS - WRITINGS - SHOP - Now adopting! 21:32, February 25, 2011 (UTC)
Cool. --Wanna see a magic trick? 23:46, February 27, 2011 (UTC)
I've stated on one right now. Template:Happymonkeycompheader. --Care for a lick? Lollipop Care for a lick? - CONTRIBS - WRITINGS - SHOP - Now adopting! 01:49, February 28, 2011 (UTC)
Could you guys please put the header up (and maybe with a link to this page. It starts today at 5pm 2200UTC. Thanks a million guys!!! --ShabiDOO 11:50, March 2, 2011 (UTC)

I am such a moron

I came here looking for the topics, and all set to write. But the contest starts tomorrow, not today. I was wondering why nobody put a header up. Oh well, see you tomorrow then. Duh. Aleiser 23:20 1-3-'11

Comment move

Al here, I moved Neopowell's comment here, it was mixed among the contestant listings:

I e-mailed in a suggestion but I'm not listed as topic received. Did you get my message? --Holy Shit It's Neonazi powell 22:49, March 1, 2011 (UTC)
WE WANT OUR TOPICS. --~ Mimo.gifMimomaxus.gifMaxus.gif 16:22, March 2, 2011 (UTC)
I still haven't gotten any topic. --~ Mimo.gifMimomaxus.gifMaxus.gif 20:30, March 2, 2011 (UTC)
Mimo the contest begins at 5pm EST, 2200 UTC and 00.00 Greek time. Patience my young mediterranean brother. Americans and anglo saxons love order and fairness, I cannot give your topic early, just as I wont give Aleisters topic 5 hours late. --ShabiDOO 20:56, March 2, 2011 (UTC)
So I have to write a topic about anything? Cool. --Care for a lick? Lollipop Care for a lick? - CONTRIBS - WRITINGS - SHOP - Now adopting! 21:14, March 2, 2011 (UTC)
Mimo, your topic is "Electric fish camp out in the Vatican bathroom when, without warning, the ghost of Skinny Ted - ala the moaning ghost in Harry Potter - tells them of his adventures on the moons of Jupiter. But the flying fish, tight in their sleeping bags, cannot hear him, and begin to hum a tune from "Evita", which soon combines with Skinny Ted's story in intriguing ways." Okay, go! Aleister 21:19 2-3-'11
I've started already, mine was Fly (insect). --Care for a lick? Lollipop Care for a lick? - CONTRIBS - WRITINGS - SHOP - Now adopting! 23:06, March 2, 2011 (UTC)
I gave this topic to shabidoo. --~ Mimo.gifMimomaxus.gifMaxus.gif 13:18, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

There are still two reviews left to be done before I can wrap up the competition. We will just have to be patient. Lyrithya, could you please tell me who won and who was 2nd and 3rd for last years competition. I cant find out with the record last year and I dont know where the page is where happy monkey announced the final results. --ShabiDOO 03:12, March 13, 2011 (UTC)
Nobody ever really figured out who won the first one, although legend has it that I won with Tombstone (and I may have, looking at the results). Which is fitting, as the contest originated when Happy Monkey challenged me to a writing contest because I stole his cookies and wouldn't give them back. We arranged the rules, and then he called it off at the last minute because he was out on a date! We then set it up again and invited others to join in, but all that was important to me was that I beat Happy Monkey!!! Aleister 3:27 13-3-'11
