Battle of Tilsit
|Battle of Tilsit|
A German Soldier responding to the alert of the Russian Forces
|Part of World War 1 in a Alternate Universe|
The Battle of Tilsit was the first recorded battle of World War 1 in a Alternate Universe which occured due to an increased rivalry between the German and Russian Empires which in of itself was a response to the British declaration of War against the Germans and the French-Russian coalition against the German Empire. Tsar Gibby I of Russia called for the in-service generals to begin invasion plans against the Germans and Austro-Hungarians who joined the war against the Russians, General and commander of the Russian Loan Dolphins, Chester the Chicken was the general in charge of the invasion of East Prussia since Russia had modernized its military thanks to the artillery expert Megumin which thanks to her significant efforts in artillery, made Russia a more powerful threat since the Boxer Rebellion.
At approximatley 7:15 AM at the morning of July 8, 1914: The Russian Loan Dolphins crossed the Memel River as artillery strikes began raining down on the city, the intial German garrison of around 1,800 stationed there weren't prepared and many got injured and even some died, when word arrived, the German General Üter Zörker was placed in command of the city but the issue was that he was a inexperienced and new general while Chester participated and learnt from many different wars going as far back as the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–78 which made this a heavily one sided battle despite the Germans having superior weaponry in terms of infantry. As the German reinforcements arrived at approximatley 9:36 AM, the Reinforcements arrived which made the fighting more fair but the odds were devastating when the Russians brought in the 1st army which was a massive force that proved too big to fight which then resulted in the retreat with many of the leftover German troops choosing to stay getting either killed, wounded or imprisoned. It was worth noting that under luck, the Germans fought off and even captured some Russian soldiers trying to skirmish the retreating soldiers.
The imprisoned soldiers were forcefully sent off to work at the Russian Factories without pay as a personal order of the Tsar himself which had very poor living conditions and were plagued with disease as the city was then occupied by the victorious Russian force as the only notable Russian advance into East Prussia. The battle was initially percieved as a descive victory in the British and Russian press but this wouldn't last long as the Germans would proceed to win in the Battle of Kulm and proceed to defeat the Russians in most other battles inside Congressional Poland.
