Respectfully disagree; it gets a bit heavyhanded by the end but overall I enjoyed this more than many other recent featured articles. Thanks to all who worked on it! --Raxvulpine 18:43, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Alas, yes, it really does need a mention that the national anthem is King Missile's Detachable Penis.

And that, contrary to recent reports on the state of the US education system, male American high school students are quite proficient at locating the United States on a map by finding a warm Canadian girl and going south. BorisOfAmerica 20:04, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Dead Soldiers[edit source]

GET RID OF THAT NOW! How is that in any way funny or amusing? What the hell is wrong with you? If you hate America thats fine, but using pictures of dead soldiers for amusement is just wrong and immoral.

Agreed. Completely inappropriate and very offensive. I know this the Uncyclopedia, by that cross the lined.

In fact, I somewhat agree. The picture, in its current context, is quite disrespectful to those soldiers that gave their lives fighting for some kind of cause. But to speak in Uncyclopedia's defense, America really had it coming. I agree. The picture of the dead soldiers needs to be removed. I can handle a lot, but this is taking it too far. The picture of the dead soldiers...well. It's not funny. I would never expect to see any soldier going home in that manner (no matter his nationality or the country he returned to) to be ridiculed in this way. I respectfully ask that the picture be removed and replaced.

Writers should try harder[edit source]

MrN9000 makes a drive by comment (translated into American)

I've read this article twice now and I just don't find it very funny. Sure it is a great turn about on American obesity and eating problems but I would think people would try harder and use a funnier topic. I just think the people that wrote this copped out and could have used a much better starting point of satire about America. (yup you guessed it I'm also a fat fucker)--Republican Jesus 01:30, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

So don't read it. And, if you want to have a say in what is featured versus what is not featured, I encourage you to vote on VFH. Cheerio.-Sir Ljlego, GUN VFH FIYC WotM SG WHotM PWotM AotM EGAEDM ANotM + (Talk) 01:37, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Dead Soldiers[edit source]

Seriously how is the soldiers not deleted yet? I'll go post a different picture on Britian with the same subtitles and see what people say. no

What the fuck is your problem? Is this picture honestly FUNNY to you? You think this shit is funny? Show some fucking respect. Tribulation 03:06, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

It doesn't necessarily follow that humour is or needs to be "FUNNY", in the case of satire for example it can be biting and thought-provoking. However in the context of this article I DO find it funny, what I don't find amusing, and do think is a total lack of respect is American (and UK for that matter) foreign policy that makes us believe its perfectly acceptable to invade and hold a sovereign nation against the wishes of most of the people there on the pretext of WMDs that never really existed or to "free" the people from an oppressive government (whilst at the same time ignoring other nations far more oppressive to indigenous people of that area (Israel, China/Tibet, and the good ol' USA itself)} though if Oil were found in Tibet that might change. Respect, has to be earned. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb.png (talk to me)
If you have a problem, then satire the government without inadvertently making fun of the brave men and women at war. The picture must be taken down.
As it happens, sometimes things that we don't like to hear tend to be looked upon as in bad taste or somehow heretical. Yes, I have deep sympathies for the families of the victims of the US' overzealous attempts to impose itself onto the world. I have a heart, albeit one that has been held in a stranglehold by my failure to hug it every day. I think the greatest way to honor those who bravely went into the military is to make the people who put them into the line of fire accountable for doing so in any way possible.
The mockery here is not of the soldiers who died, but instead of the government and military which, quite bluntly, sees them as "consignments of meat" and nothing more. Harsh, sure. But true? Absolutely.~~ Sir Ljlego, GUN  [talk] 18:42, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
What LJ said, far more diplomatically than I. -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb.png (talk to me)

That is not funny at all. Whoever posted that is a faggot piece of shit. I mean if it wuz about them arabs it'd be fun but this are bad taste because you don't make fun of AMERICA and its army otherwise its gay. Duh.

GET RID OF IT. It is in horrible taste. If you have a dislike for the government, then express without disparaging the men and women overseas. It is disgraceful that anyone can justify the appearance of that image and its caption.

As explained above, the picture and its caption aren't making fun of soldiers. It's mocking the US Government's lack of respect for those soldiers. Bush sent the troops in to harm's way based on some bullshit about WMD's which was easily disprovable. That's what the article is mocking. Not the troops themselves. I think we've made that quite clear in our comments here. --THE 03:48, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

American People and Shit[edit source]

America is full of fat slobs who spend most of there time playing computer games like Grand Theft Auto or Doom. Most of todays shit has come from america like KFC and Macdonalds. America have got nothing to be proud of apart from Global Warming and Beyonce who has won countless attention due to the size of her ass. Why is there an article about America on Uncyclopedia? If everyone hates an article it is deleted, this article is called America, everyone hates America, America should be deleted. --Phantom-Lord 02:22, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Dead Soldiers[edit source]

Yeah, Could you take the pic down of the fallen soldiers. Whatever the stance is on the iraq war, those soldiers sacrificed for the country. remember, leaders are supposed to be the indirect representation of their people in a democratic society. it is the action of the people to correct this when it fails.

V

The article isn't disrespecting the soldiers in any way. It's targeting the inept American leaders who sent those soldiers in to die based on faulty intelligence and got us stuck in an endless, pointless war. --THE 15:09, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Dead Soldiers

While I understand, and do respect, the sarcasm and satire of the photo of the dead soldiers, I would like to respectfully ask that the photo be replaced with a photo of living soldiers. The dead soldiers photo is hurtful to those whom have sacrificed their lives for their country and for those whom bear the greatest burden of that sacrifice. The nationality of the soldiers doesn't matter, my opinion would be the same regardless, it's still insulting.

If your intent is to insult the government there are hundreds of ways that can be done that isn't so hurtful, if you are attempting to hold them accountable for the death of these men...I honestly think you are in the wrong forum.

I want to repeat, this is not a point of saying Dead American Soldiers Should Not Have Their Death's Satrized rather this is me saying Dead Soldiers Should Not Have Their Death Satrized. They are men and women who, for the sake of the country they live in, have offered their lives up and that needs to be remembered and respected.

I repeat, I respectfully ask that this photo be removed and replaced. Thank you. --140.211.179.21 13:33, March 26, 2011 (UTC)Lady of Spring Rain

Motto of the United States[edit source]

Islam is lame! Motto of the rest of the world: So are the United States!

US Americans think that "America" is the country's name.[edit source]

Sequence of events:

    • The New World is discovered by Europeans.
    • They call all these new lands "America".
    • The 13 British colonies established on the north of the America gain independence and call themselves "United States of America" (the reasons are obvious: they were united states located in the continent called America).
    • US Americans start thinking that "America" is the name of the country, they begin to call it by that name and say there does not exist a continent called America...

Okay, I think this is all a big joke and is sufficiently offensive to be added to the article. Offensive to Americans (as they will be confused with the southern underdeveloped countries), offensive to Canadians (as it would mean being called Americans) and offensive to Latin Americans (since Americans do not care if the Americas have been called America in the past, in the English language). --Dbenndorf (talk) 01:59, 8 July 2016 (UTC)
