NRV usage

Thank you for finding those bad articles. However, the method of deletion isn't completely based on quality. Please read the deletion policy before you NRV articles. Some of the articles you NRV'd were made last year. Those article should be nominated in VFD, or right now, listed on this page. You can find out when an article was made by looking at the edit history. --Sbluen 22:10, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

I listed those two articles on Uncyclopedia:Forest_Fire_Week. But next time, you should follow the deletion policy. --Sbluen 00:07, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Nine Inch Nails

If people go for your rewrite instead of trashing, a few suggestions that might make an already funny article better:

  • Include the other albums. Between Broken and TDS, Trent's friends made a valiant attempt to repair the broken razors, and while most critics applauded their Fixed efforts, sales were still disappointingly low. After TDS, his friends attempted to help again, but this only drove him Further Down the Spiral. Despairing at the failure of his jingles, Trent turned to a series of infomercials called Closure. After Fragile, some joke about Things Falling Apart. And then And All There Could Have Been and Still. I can't think of good jokes for most of these, but there's gotta be something.
  • Nothing was a sublabel of first Wax Trax/TVT, then Interscope. You could parallel this in the shaver business if you can come up with something funny about first Norelco then Remington attempting to appeal to younger shavers by distributing Trent's products.
  • Something about his... er, friendly rivalry with Pigface over the song "Suck" might fit. Ogre dressing up as Trent (crouching down and wearing a cheesy halo) and leading the crowd in "Trent sucks sucks!" was the silliest thing I ever saw. But I keep thinking of vacuum cleaners, and it's not funny.
  • Marilyn Manson should come later in the history (and maybe be expanded beyond a one-liner). In the PHM era, Tori Amos was his only friend.
  • The "far too advanced for your feeble mind" line seems to stick out; it doesn't quite fit the tone of the rest of the article. A few other places where the first person is used ("we're not sure") also feel wrong.
  • Has Trent really ever needed a shave? I've seen him after three weeks in isolation, which I'm pretty sure was shave-free (it was certainly shower-free), and he had a bit of stubble. Tori Amos, on the other hand--I can see her going through a lot of razors....

Yeah, lots of vague suggestions, and not one damn line of funny you can use. But as I said, the article's already good, so anything you can do with these ideas is just extra bonus gravy dessert. Anyway, good luck; I hope everyone else changes their votes. --Falcotron 06:58, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Lol, those are pretty good. I especially like how you managed to reference his remix albums, something I failed to do. My article is rather pointless, as I happened to randomly think of most of it whilst noticing the similarities between the words "Reznor" and "Razor", so I appreciate the help. I'll probably copy-paste my article after the current one gets deleted, and I'll make sure to add in your ideas. Once again, thanks! -- §. | WotM | PLS | T | C | A21:58, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Pronunciation of your Name

Is the "Æ" in your name silent? --EMC [TALK] 18:58, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Erm... Uh... You see... There is no official pronunciation, actually. In fact, I haven't even memorized it, nor do I know how to type them with a standard keyboard. For the first symbol it's like Alt-1138... aw, forget it. I have to copy-paste it to log in. I was blocked on wikipedia for using a much shorter version of the same name: link. So yeah, that's my life story. -- §. | WotM | PLS | T | C | A 06:21, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

No, seriously. That is what I thought of the article. How is it lame? -- §. | WotM | PLS | T | C | A 22:45, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Because it put your own article ahead of Hermaphrodite in the vote count. Isn't that just a bit suspicious? I have no connection to Hermaphrodite, by the way. I haven't read it (or HowTo:Skip School, for that matter). I just find it rather convenient that yours was the vote (cast over a month after the article was actually nommed) that dropped Hermy out of first. —rc (t) 22:51, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Actually, I see now that Sir Cornbread also voted against your article when it was at +13.5 and gaining fast. So I suppose you're even. —rc (t) 22:56, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
I realized that it would look like that when I voted for it. And yes, it did put my article ahead. However, I also just voted for Rorschach Inkblot Acid Test, because I liked that article, an act which tied it with my own article. While that vote did look suspicious (I don't care if Hermaphrodite is featured before mine anyway; it has lots of support, and probably will win within the next couple of days anywho), that was simply my opinion of Hermaphrodite as an article. -- §. | WotM | PLS | T | C | A 23:02, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Arthropods looked like it took a while to create, it was linked to and nearly 4x the size of the other articles you NRV'd, squiggle, I don't really think that after putting a lot of work into something it should quickly be stamped with "NO redeeming value." The Bureaucracy Channel

So, what's it missing? So far it's just been Tooltroll encouraging me, me editing, and Hardwick pitching in to magik up the place. That's a mere three minds; not one of which is a squiggle. What are you not feeling? Is it the lack of full frontal nudity or is it that there's too much full frontal nudity? --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 01:39, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

There was full frontal nudity? :) No, I just kinda think it is doesn't feel completed; The groundwork is totally there, but it needs more sections in the way of paragraph form. The intro is well written, and the listings are funny, but together they feel bare and, while funny, not as exceptional as American Fundie Magazine or HMS Potatore. Note that I gave a Weak Against; I'll probably change my mind. -- §. | WotM | PLS | T | C | A 01:51, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm between a rock and a hard place here; it's dry already and if extended further it risks becoming like, oh I don't know, my job. Someone at a party made the mistake of asking me "So, what do you do?" and, after about thirty seconds or so of my lurid, nay pornographic description, I saw her eyes glaze over as she was overcome by the sheer blahness of bureaucracy. It's like joy repellent. I chose to play it safe and kept the page short and tight, with only a minimum of the repetition that bureaucracy so enjoys. Incidentally, when I can't sleep, I find it eases the walk into slumberland to count staplers.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 02:04, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Fine; you've swayed me. I probably would have voted for in the first place if everything else you've made in comparison wasn't so damned good. -- §. | WotM | PLS | T | C | A 02:12, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Disregard, it was too tabley. T'would appear that it's damned no matter what.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 02:44, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Actually, I like the tabley version. It's more organized and hopelessly bureaucratic, yet accomplished both seperately. -- §. | WotM | PLS | T | C | A 03:39, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
