RC Murphy tends to be a bit on the Not-Understanding-the-open-source-part-of-open-source end of the Spectrum Sorry about that...Just wanted to ask you something. How are you messaging people? oh yeah and Trent sends his regards.

Hey Murph, sorry for the interruption but did you happen to cacth that thing about the fire war? Its not on the site, so you'll have to google it or something. Just wanted to let you know. ~Trent

So, yeah, I don't think that we are destroying things by 'altering' misimformation. What we are doing is not destructive in any way, well at least not as destrucive as anything else on Uncyclopedia. I won't edit your user page anymore although it was a very effective way to get your attention, if you want to say anything to me just go to NIN.com and leave a post on the Access part and we will respond ~Trent

Hey man my friends and i want to apologize for screwing with your user page and all. Hey can you unblock my normal IP adress 71.97.21.207? I realize that I deserved it yesterday. but it is really more of an inconvienience than a punishment. ~ Drkdragon1313

You do realize that you are out numbered right? because you are. You have an army against you and the names of the entities in this army are on this website. You and the Funny Patrol won't last much longer. Soon there will be an uprising and we will take charge! ~Trent

Did you see the request sent in by my brother in arms? I guess not. Unblock him or the revolution will happen prematurely!

Did you see the London Guardian article? It's on community portal right now. Our Seven Deadly Sins teamwork is recognized! Good job! --Savethemooses 10:27, 8 May 2005 (EDT)

Hey - if you thought that 64.40.46.156 deserved more than 24hrs, let them have it. I was just trying not to go overboard on my first evening of banning. Of course, I could be misunderstanding the "reverted to Famine's ban" text and that's actually a system message, but my current understanding is that you let me let them off easy. Do I have a clue, or do I need some edumacating? --Famine 21:40, 29 May 2005 (EDT)

You do have some additional authority than I here - that of being here longer. I hesistate to "really" ban being new at it, as I know there is a fuzzy line somewhere between stifling creativity and booting idiots. IRL I tend to be a bit of a facist dictator, and I don't want to start out too heavy here. Guess I want to make sure I have other admins supporting my actions rather than going "WTF is that guy doing?" If I'm too easy on schmucks, I have no problem with someone else coming along and smiting them. I'll probably get a little more bold after I see someone I banned two days ago come back and make a mess.
For instance, 70.110.186.18 has made some questionable edits. Short bursts of crap that really aren't that good. I decided I couldn't justify banning because they weren't really vandalism, but it's stupid crap. How would you classify edits like this? --Famine 22:15, 29 May 2005 (EDT)

Okay, so...um...what exactly is going on with Jack Cain? Is he just a useless one-trick pony or what? I blocked him for just a day because I don't really know what's happening. He frightens me. --Rcmurphy 04:33, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)
  • Not sure what to make of this, every time I revert some reference he's inserted to "impregnating schoolgirls" (Eve, Girl, Girls, Japan, Little girls, Pregnancy, Schoolgirl, Tokyo he keeps reverting them back - very tiresome given the number of articles affected. I'd temporarily protected a few of the reverted pages but they can't all stay that way (protect has to come off eventually, sooner rather than later, as they need to be open for legitimate contribution) so perhaps a ban is for the best. He does seem to have other contribs, a large quantity posted in the last 24hrs creating Category:MaRonite_Cannon and affecting various articles on Japan. User:24.193.234.120 is part of the same pattern, at least based on history of Hokkaido article. Will have to see what happens once the key affected pages are unprotected again... --Carlb 04:56, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Greetinglets. First thing to say: Not trying to upstage or anything, but I saw the high res version of the most excellent logo was not working out the best. I started fiddling with the wikipedia logo (squished and browned it, rubbed out the symbols, put in some uncyc-able ones as close to yours as I could follow at first). Take a peek at the progress? Image:Whatstaters.jpg. I am not happy with the shading or the clutter from overly many pieces, but some aspects of it please me. I can't make good PNG with photoshop 5 but with some effort I can get a good alpha transparency going sometimes. If you think this is worth working on more lemme know, I'd be happy to send you the psd or such to fiddle with, or take suggestions. --Splaka Bur. SG CM © 11:18, 31 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, I feel stupid now for using such a small potato source image. By all means upload the image at the Dump and see what people think - it's obviously had a lot of work put into it. I probably won't have time to do much image editing in the near future (school, you know) and I'm not too good at it anyway, so I can't really help you there...
OK, will do. Is that a real potato btw? I was pondering someone could take a potato and a sharpie and recreate it...
It's a real image of a potato I found via Google. It's pretty much perfect for my purposes except for the size. --Rcmurphy KUN 22:52, 31 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Homeland Security?

Just asking because it's kind of been bugging me in the back of my mind since you mentioned not knowing, in the Dump a week ago... Have you gotten any news (home, family) from No Orleans? --Splaka 06:12, 8 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for asking. Thankfully all of my family is all right - all my NO relatives made it out of the city before the storm hit. My house, which isn't in New Orleans but rather in a different city that Katrina demolished, somehow made it through without being destroyed, though it has some damage. Nearly got crushed by a big tree, too. Casualties include my grandparents' house in No Orleans (satellite photos show that their neighborhood was/is completely under water), my great uncles' complex of houses on the beach in Bay St. Louis (which satellite photos show is completely gone), and probably my aunt's house in NO as well. Basically, not a good week and a half. But it could have been worse for us. --Rcmurphy KUN 07:10, 8 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Man, that sucks in so many ways, but at least they got out. Are you out West or East? (In school? I guess they can't hit you up for a place to stay while you're in a dorm or such). --Splaka 07:21, 8 Sep 2005 (UTC)
I'm in school out west. Way west. Most of the displaced people are living with other family in Florida, so they've got a good place to stay while things are cleaned up back home. I wish I could go back and help with things, but unfortunately that's not really viable right now. A lot of my city and some of my favorite places were destroyed by this storm, so it'd be a depressing homecoming anyway...
I hear that Cafe du Monde survived, though. That makes me a touch happier. --Rcmurphy KUN 07:36, 8 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Sorry to hear it, man, but glad to hear that your family is safe. Keep us posted on what happens - I know a bunch of us have at least a passing interest in hearing stories from that area. I, for one, am curious to find out what the govt says about rebuilding - will they let everyone do so, or will some areas be off limits now? It's gotta be a shitty time, not just for the destruction, but for the uncertainty. Pass along my best wishes. Bone F clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 23:33, 8 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Featured Articles

Since the time between featured articles is rapidly approaching one day, have you thought of setting up an automatic system for them? It wouldn't be that hard, using {{CURRENTDAY2}} to call up a set of predetermined templates, and you could format them up to a month in advance (and simple redirects would work with two and three day runs as well). Viewing the source might ruin the surprise for some, but small price to pay ^_^. --Splaka 06:53, 18 Oct 2005 (UTC)

It's tempting, but I don't know if it's entirely fair to the VFH nominees. If a really smashing, gosh-wow page was written and racked up twenty votes within a day, it would either have to wait until the predetermined features ran out, or I'd have to go in and manipulate stuff to fit it in. Plus there are the other things that need to be changed (BEST, the VFH/ArticleFH template on the pages themselves, etc.) which might be confusing if they're changed all at once, before the article is actually featured. Maybe sometime we could set something up if things get too busy, but right now I don't really mind changing the articles and images in and out. Makes me feel useful. :) --—rc (t) 07:12, 18 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Well, that's fair. I was pondering how it could be done with featured images, but it would be confusing to keep adding images to the rotation. Anywho. Cheerio! --Splaka 07:15, 18 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Well, truth on Uncyc is usually vandalism, but the main offense was at the DUMP. The Village Dump is open to everyone - it's the main place for comments about the site. Holy crap, man! You have done some amazing work. My favorite image of yours is the Time magazine cover. That one is hilarious! I have a lot of work to do if I ever intend on catching up in the amount of work you have done. --Mosquitopsu 18:28, 2 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Congratulations

Congratulations on having your article win a space on the main page. It came so soon after I voted on it which has me convinced that I must be good luck. --Mosquitopsu 20:42, 4 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Thanks again! Wish I had more articles you could work your magic with. --—rc (t) 06:45, 5 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Features to mailing list?

Uncyclopedia-L hardly gets used for anything. Since you do the features, what about emailing the front page text to the list? I'm sure there are ways it could be slightly automated (press a button to email Template:Featuredarticle and a URL to the list). It'd also be nice to alert people to new features - David Gerard 21:53, 4 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Sure, I think I'll try that next time a new article is due (supposing, of course, that I remember...). --—rc (t) 06:51, 5 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Vote Policy

Yeah, I'm supposed to be sleeping, but I went on a search of policies, newbie info, general help files, and the VFH, VFP pages instead... and for the life of me I don't see any reference to a maximum number of votes. Anywhere. So... if you could point me in the right direction, I'd surely appreciate it. And if there are any more non-intuitive leghold trap policies awaiting enthusiastic n00bs like me, well, I guess I should know those, too. I've probably exceeded elsewere wrongly as well.  :) Cheers. Now I can sleep. -- T. (talk) 06:14, 9 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Heh, sorry. I was kidding about the ten-vote limit. You can vote as often as you want on any of the pages, except for, like, Recent News, which isn't a voting page. Otherwise, let's see...I assume you already know about the sacrifice of your firstborn child to Sophia (if you didn't, well, you really should have read the User Agreement Form beforehand). And the fifty-dollar monthly fee is negligable. So I guess you're set. --—rc (t) 06:22, 9 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Awright then. Uhm, can we put the $50/month on some kind of auto-debit from my account of future UN earnings and prize monies? Something I've written is bound to earn me fabulous riches around here. Gotta be. I mean, I won the Least Awards Award within hours of joining. :) -- T. (talk) 11:35, 9 Nov 2005 (UTC)
