I find today that a section of my Kitten Cookbook mirrors the same historical incident as RA. When you posted the above link to RA, I didn't look at it then, not until today, but knew it was there to go to soon and may have remembered it subconsciusly. But on the kitten page the idea of expanding the curse section came full-blown immediately when I read the page on VFD, which already included the curse section, and I expanded it over the weekend. So I feel like a jerk on one hand because in a court of law it would seem like I copied the storyline, but don't feel bad at all on the other hand because in the court of my own brain I know what happened. But with this WotY thing sitting in the corner of my conversations with you or Sog - and I'm hoping for a three-way tie (at least three, Black Flamingo, Guildy, King and Funnybony could make it seven and I'd be doing cartwheels) - I wanted to come by and explain. As for RA, are you still thinking of doing the Crowley-like page as well (you take the lead on RA since it's well underway), I'd enjoy working on that one. Mmm, more on that. I have to wonder... why did you nominate that yourself right off the bat? It's a right lovely piece, so far as I'm concerned, and so far as several others are as well, and you could have probably gotten any one of us to nominate it, so why?

Thing is, quality or otherwise, perhaps unreviewed self-noms really aren't such a good idea, even from folks such as yourself. See it from a noob's perspective. Given a new environment, one of the ways people learn is by observing what other people do and mimicking them - I was a noob not so long ago (hells, I kind of still am), and that's what I did; one of the things it got me an admin on my talkpage informing me he'd kill me. I stayed anyhow, but folks don't always. Similarly, someone sees you completely ignoring the stated rules, and what do you expect they'll be apt to think, especially if they're not familiar with context? Do they really need the confusion, even if it most probably wouldn't be quite so off-putting as a cranky Chief?

I actually don't think a single one of my articles has ever gone to Pee Review, at least I've never put anything in there myself, and I've never wished to waste the limited resources there dealing with my shizz. You are, of course, completely correct, if there are rules there they are there for everyone. However their is a way to deal with issues and a way not to deal with issues. Coming here first to discuss the matter would have been better, or bringing the matter up within the main Forum for a more general discussion of what actually is the current rule? Alternatively speaking to one of the other people who saw no issue in voting, including several admins, may have appeared far more diplomatic too? Comments on VFH

Fair call. The reason behind me making it is that I want to see more video being added to the site to bring it a little more up to date. The problem is it's a spork of an ad nobody visiting to the site would recognise, and knowing what the original is makes a big difference. If this doesn't feature than it's not a huge issue, but I'm trying to determine if people would like to see more video on site before I continue making them. (As I have about 3 or 4 others I'm working on at the moment - one of which has just been added to YouTube to be linked back to here. Once I work out what I need to do to trim down the file size of it then I should be able to start hosting them here.) Pup 10:41 12 Jul '11

That's where that is! I had stumbled across that ages ago, and forgotten where it was. I'm working on trying to minimise OGG files as we speak, so hopefully able to set us up to have a little more precedent for adding different media styles on site, which should, ideally, pave the way for others.
