Please don't remove entries from VFD. If you expand an article after someone has nominated it for deletion, it's best to post a comment on VFD saying you've done so. Removing VFDs looks suspicious and some of the admins have itchy banning fingers. Cheerio --—rc (t) 01:44, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

It's cool, I know you weren't trying to do anything illicit. And yes, editing someone's Talk page gives them the "new messages" notice. --—rc (t) 01:53, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Napoleonic Wars[edit source]

Not to be a stinky bugger, but what was wrong with my Napoleonic Wars article that you had to delete the whole thing and start over? I'd appreciate it if you'd put the old one back and add to that instead. Maybe I'm just being narcissistic. --Orborde 02:50, 7 Oct 2005 (UTC)

I just logged on and saw that you reverted it. Thanks. I know it needs work, but I particularly liked the side-by-side comparison of British and Napoleonic ice cream. --Orborde 17:19, 27 Oct 2005 (UTC)

VFD Noms.[edit source]

I actually agree with you that at least most of those would be better for QVFD, but I figure theres a better chance it'll get deleted on VFD. Plus I don't want anyone getting mad at me... heh. YOUR SICK !!![edit source]

Please continue your articles on Final Fantasy. I`d want to see some other FFs put into "good work" but I just don`t have your "sick" ideas :D. Please write some more, I listen to SOLDIER every day since their hit song : "STAB THAT BITCH!" (sorry)--Skyrape 00:27, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

How to survive a robot uprising[edit source]

C & C[edit source]

Hobel - sorry about the against vote, but I felt Robot Uprising needed more substance. Which isn't to say it's bad - far from it. However, for every VFH candidate, I look for certain qualities, including whether or not an article out-does or competes with what I could potentially do with a subject. This either sounds slightly insane or asinine, but it's true - as I was reading Robot Uprising, I kept thinking "why didn't he do this?" or "ah, he could have run with that." So, I tend to vote for articles that impress me. But you are not a bad writer by any means. If you send me some links of your other work, I could offer you some suggestions - but keep in mind what I find funny someone else might roll their eyes at. Such is the tragically diffilcult art of comedy.

At the least, don't be discouraged, and thank you for having the courage to say "hey, what gives?" in a nice way. — 2nd lt. sir wild weasel kun vfh fp Icons-flag-us.png sex & violence! 22:23, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Some Free Advice[edit source]

Hobel - I can't claim to be either a great writer or a great comedian, but you can take my advice if you want it. I looked at your work, and I have one chief piece of advice: write more.

Look at VFH as the final stage - publishing, if you will - that you send your writing to when it is waxed, polished, and air-tight. Before you get to that stage and succeed at it, you need to practice your craft. Follow VFD - get a sense of what people don't like, or what isn't funny. Try re-writing an article or two - if you're bold, re-write an article on VFD and see if VFD then votes to keep it (that's a good sign).

Read the work of other successful writers, and try to get a sense of what tricks and methods they use (this isn't to say copy their style directly, but pay an homage instead when you can). Once you've done some re-writes, start brainstorming for an original idea - try to select ideas you wouldn't normally consider. Push yourself to make something mundane funny.

When you write enough, one or two concepts/articles should stand out as being your best. Focus on them; pay attention to their formatting, make sure they have some pictures, make sure you provide links and that the links aren't red. Polish the grammar, polish the humor.

Print out your article and have someone read it. People might laugh to humor you, but if they really do laugh, you've got something. The more they laugh, the better. Use your print copy to proofread - you'll see things in print you might have missed on-line.

Ask someone at Uncyclopedia to proofread/offer criticism on your work. I can't promise I'll do it, but I like your spirit, and I will be honest with you if and when you send me something to read.

Well, that about covers it. Good luck! — 2nd lt. sir wild weasel kun vfh fp Icons-flag-us.png sex & violence! 13:41, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

VFH error[edit source]

Check this out. You seemed to want to vote for Goa Tse, but you voted in the previous section (John Cage) while updating the Goa Tse score. And, the formatting is messed up. And if you had a comment, it disappeared. I'll leave you to sort it out. ~ T. (talk) 17:11, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Based on that edit, I've rearranged your vote to look like this:

  • For. I admit I was scared at first but this is frickin' hilarious. --Hobelhouse 17:00, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

(for Goa Tse)

if that's incorrect, please fix it.
