You mean the templates? You just get those by putting double brackets ({{}}--these guys) around the template's name. It's still awfully short, and your sentence structure is very shaky. Try to cut down on the excessive exclamation marks, they look a bit unprofessional. Ok, here's what I'd recommend doing: copy and paste a version of the page that you like into your userspace. For example, make a page at User:Kapuso/Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, and work on it there, where it probably won't be found by anyone that wants to alter it. Once you think it's done, you can move it back into mainspace. If it gets deleted and CVP'd, you can ask an admin, like Mordillo, if they would put it into mainspace for you. You could also consider getting the article reviewed, and get someone else's opinion on it. /me happens to be wander past, and trips over the article. "Hea! What's this!" Well I would say it's a lot better than it was. Still a bit unnecessarily random in places, and you should strip that out. Also, I think it's a bit "political" in places without having any funny to go with the politics. I think it's OK to put political stuff in an article if you want to, but if you do, you must justify it with something particularly funny to back it up. In places this article is just a little bit of a "political rant" without actually being funny to compensate... Kapuso, it's TheLedBalloon's opinion which matters in this case (not mine), so wait for him to reply before you do anything... Hmmm... I find myself agreeing with MrN, here. You have some pretty funny stuff in this page, but there's a lot of really random stuff, too. You introduce topics and ideas that sorta go nowhere, ie: How her mole is from the aliens and the Catholic church. It's pretty random in and of itself, but you could at least tell how and why the mole was put there -- a lot of the funniest comedy comes from the details. Anyways, as is, it would probably survive in mainspace right now, but I'd definitely still recommend going through it yourself, once more, and then going to Pee review. Now, I admit that there are some random stuff in the article that I would try to work it out. Regarding the "Catholic Church" stuff, I am thinking now if the cause of Gloria's mole could be a misplaced booger that cannot be removed anymore. Admin-type advice

I'm don't want you going the way of Braydie or Sbu, so don't do too much admin-type stuff. They burned themselves out, I think. Plus, Braydie's computer was made of wicker, which made his 20,000,000 admin-related edits more work than they really needed to be. I blame myself for Sbu...I pawned the mahna mahna virus off on her. The only thing bugging me is the stuntedness of "in the fetal position" to the article's movement: I'd very much appreciate your thoughts on this. Speaking of stuntedness, ",as anyone would be in such a situation." is awkward. Plus, taking it out allows for seamless transition into the next line. Well, it's awfully short. Try to flesh it out, a bit, expand on what you have so far. Don't be afraid to use some of those tricks in HTBFANJS--a lot of them seem pretty stupid, but they really do work. Of course, you shouldn't feel limited by what it says on that page--write stuff that makes you laugh, and a lot of times others will also laugh (of course, sometimes not, as everyone laughs at different things). Check out some of the featured articles to get some ideas, if you like--don't use their jokes, obviously, but they provide some good examples of what kind of writing styles are valued around here. Most of the article has roots in the truth, but with bits added or twisted - Blaze did run away from home, his first band was Wolfsbane (changed to Wolfsballs for comedy effect), the band members are correct (with the addition of a kazoo player for comedy effect), the albums are their real releases (with the names slightly changed for comedy effect), Blaze really did join Maiden, and as soon as he got off the phone to Steve Harris, ran out to buy a Jag and a Triumph bike (I just changed this to a jar of jam for comedy effect) and during that time, Maiden really did release their 2 worst albums (yes! Even worse than No Prayer For The Dying!!!...) Blaze really is blamed by EVERYONE for Maidens decline (no comedy in that!!!...) and Steve really did kick him out of Maiden (not 'coz he found the pics, but I can't go into the real reasons...) Blaze really did set up a solo project called Blaze, it really was shit... The thing about inventing a new scale was a joke, but come on, you hve to admit, he does sing out of key, often between notes... I saw Wolfsbane back in '91, and he stood there on stage and said "Bow down, you are in the presence of a god..." so I twisted it a bit for comedy effect. If you check Blazes official facebook profile, the next two quotes are on there, listed by himself as his favourite quotes. The last quote about the Ritz crackers I made up, but to keep in with the earlier career section for comedy effect...

There is more truth in there than fiction(!) and the page has to start somewhere...

Yeah, I know a thing or two about Bayley's stay in Iron Maiden... the part that bothered me most was the section "humble beginnings." You can't tell me that "Blaze Bayley (born Balze Bayley 29 May 1928) was raised by 2 minotaurs on a pickled egg farm in Tamworth. His early days were spent filling the vats with vinegar and sweeping small ferrets down a hole in the floor" isn't more than a little random. Also, I get that a lot of it plays off of stuff in reality, but the trouble is, not everyone knows about the guy. For example, the list of albums just changes the names of actual albums to things that, while certainly not politically correct, aren't really all that funny. Just twisting the names of stuff usually isn't. For example, Iron Maiden used to just be a huge list of albums and songs with slightly twisted names to imply the band members' homosexuality, among other things. Every song, on every Maiden album. As you can imagine, it got very old very quickly. Instead, twist truth with a purpose. (Because, as you well know, without purpose, we would not exist.) Why not make the list of albums go more like:

• • Wolfsbane (demo)
  • Dinin'(...is it dinin' or dancin'...? Ah fuck it I forget.) Dirty
  • Live fast(....hang on, lemme go check the name...I know I have this one...here it is!) Die fast
  • Don't have this album...
  • ...don't have this, either...
  • ...or this one...
  • Dammit, Joey still has my copy of this, I'm never loaning him CDs again!
  • Lifestyles of the broke and obscure

(Obviously, this is just an example, and not a very good one at that, but you get the idea. I'm sorta twisting the name without twisting the name, if that makes any sense at all.)

Essentially what I'm getting at here is, don't start out sounding absurd. Start out sounding relatively normal, and then convince people you're a raving lunatic. One last piece of advice is this: it's very, very, veryveryveryveryvery hard to write a funny band article. The page HowTo:Show your appreciation for the band Led Zeppelin manages to do it, but it's making fun of the fans, rather than the band, which tend to be an easier target. Honestly, ICU isn't a death sentence. Just work on the page a bit (add some good stuff, take some mediocre stuff out), and you'll be fine. Check out those other two pages I linked, and I personally like to read HTBFANJS before I write--it's full of a lot of stupid-sounding tips that really do help. Anyways, whatever you do, good luck. OK, fair enough, I read the beginners guide etc before writing the article, but it was all pretty much common sense stuff... I guarantee that any Maiden fan reading it will find it amusing, if only for the fact it rips the piss out of Blaze. I felt that a page needed to be created for Blaze, and intended (expected) it to be added to/altered by other Maiden fans that stumble across it. It was just there as a starter... Just fuck it and take it down, hopefully someone wittier than me will take the time to be arsed to write an article about Balze :o)

If you like, instead, here's the TLB sig crash-course. First, make a userspace subpage, such as User:Ninja Man/sig. After that, fill it with fancy code that you create using mad l33t hax(stealing code from someone else's, usually). Then, go to Special:Preferences and add {{SUBST:nosubst|User:Ninja Man/sig}} to the nickname box, checking the box for a raw nick. Then, just sign with those 4 tildes, and you're good. As for the image size, I'm not really sure which the number changes--it might just affect the total pixels; I'm really not sure. I am pretty sure that you can't change an image's dimensions, though. Time, Sigs, Subst...

OK, so Mordillo said you may be able to help me... M'kay. this one is a toughie, it's a tale of signatures, "subst" tags and time... OK, for my sig I use something like this: {{User:YesTimeToEdit/sig|<then I write the time out here>}}. My signature then slings whatever I write after the " | " into a time format thingy and puts it at the front of my sig... But is there a way of using a template or something that includes the "subst" tags to make it so you don't have to write the time out... If you understand what I'm talking about here... I'm not sure but ☯, I think, uses something like this...Er, yah.

Hmmm...honestly, I'm not 100% sure. You could try putting {{CURRENTTIME}} in that place where you typically type out the time manually, and otherwise generally fooling around with it. The style of thing you're trying to could probably be gotten by putting "<small><small>''–{{subst:CURRENTTIME}}, {{subst:CURRENTMONTHABBREV}} {{subst:CURRENTDAY}}''</small></small> {{SUBST:nosubst|User:YesTimeToEdit/sig}}", replacing those "small" tags with whatever colors or styles you like. Then, just sign with 3 tildes and you should be set. For including it all in one template like you have it now, you could ask Dr. Skullthumper, as I'm not well-versed in that particular method. Seeing as I'm new I was wondering somethings. Firstly where is a list of Huffed articles so I don't accidentally revive one. Also I was thinking of making an article about Rick Astley (how original) along with a page that rick rolls you (so others may link to it when they feel it is appropriate). If you have any idea what I'm talking about. Yes I read the guide saying you shouldn't make references to the chans or anything but i think this can count as an exception. Well, if you just want to make a page to rickroll people, you may want to check out this useful guide. Seriously, though, a page created just to rickroll people would be acceptable, only if you keep in in userspace(ie: "User:Someguy503/Rickroll"), and don't spam it around too much. If you want to make a page about Rick Astley himself, that's fine, just make sure it's funny--the thing that helped me to write well the most was reading the featured articles, and learning by trial-and-error. Hello

I'll admit my article is lacking humour at the moment and it is very short for the time being, but it is a work in progress.

I am new to the site, and though I have read the primary beginner pages I may not be entirely certain on all the rules. I believe it was in a subsection of my userpage, which should be relatively safe against deletion. If I am mistaken, please let me know and I will use Word or something equally inconvenient to write in.

If it's no inconvenience, I would like to have my 'article' restored so that I may continue to improve it so it actually has humour and faux-content and eventually publish it to the main site. Despite this monor setback, I do look forward to being part of a community with such vigilant crap-deletion.

Yep, that's it. Just use 3 tildes. I've always typed the tildes out, not using the sig button, so it actually made life easier for me.
