Forum topic ideas[edit | edit source]

  1. Writing collaboration to bring Uncyclopedia back to GA-status (or bringing it featured status) on Wikipedia.
  2. Creating a notable Uncyclopedia article or topic on Wikipedia and bringing it to featured status.
  3. Writing collaboration (as part of April Fool's Day) to bring a risque topic to FA-status (or otherwise appear on Wikipedia's main page)
  4. Writing project to create and feature every "vital" encyclopedia topic on Uncyclopedia (see: 2015 or Bust!).
Phase I: Uncyclopedia:100 most vital articles (14 out of 100 are featured; all created)
Phase II: Uncyclopedia:Vital (109 out of 1,010 are featured)
  5. Proposal to restart the Foreign Office by recruiting bilingual editors and readers to translate (preferably featured) articles from non-English Uncyclopedias (and vice versa). Possibly run as a weekly event (Conservation Week) or monthly collaboration (IC).
    1. Ascertain how many bilingual Uncyclopedians currently exist
    2. Appeal to readers who are bilingual (or know someone who is)
    3. Contact inactive/retired bilingual users to translate articles
    4. Reach out to Wikipedia:Translation members
    5. Ask for volunteer translators on various online forums
    6. Contact former leaders of the Foreign Office to restart project
    7. Build a "core list" of encyclopedic articles to translate based on UN:VITAL and UN:TOP100. (see: here)
  6. Proposal for a new UnProject ("UnStudio?") which would encourage Uncyclopedians to submit audio and video content for the website, such as its YouTube channel, and bring together related projects (e.g. UnTunes). Possibly include a version of RXC for editors and readers to suggest ideas.
  7. Proposal for new yearly award: Comeback of the Year. - Done
  8. Ideas for recruiting more editors or otherwise improving user base (e.g. annual "recruitment drives", contacting humor websites/forums, year end contest for retired editors, etc.) - Done
  9. Updated Donation template which gradually runs from vague or offensive statements to mafioso-like threats. (see: Wikipedia Forever)
  10. Special skin to commemorate the WWI centennial in 2014

Future contest ideas[edit | edit source]

  1. Participants choose any topic from VFD and successfully restore to mainspace.
  2. Participants successfully rewrite an article requested for expansion.
  3. Participants write an article based on a random picture (or pictures) chosen by judge. Possible 24 hour contest.
  4. Participants write any topic (real or imagined) relating to Oscar Wilde. Possibly run as a tournament.
  5. Participants write a WWI-related article as part of this proposed project. If successful, it would run bi-annually to create as many core WWI topics as possible before the centennial in 2014.
  6. Participants write an article chosen by readers (or fellow Uncyclopedians) about their hometowns, universities, etc. A similar contest could be run with the subject being randomly chosen by the audience.
  7. Resurrect the Uncyclopedia:Emmanuel Goldstein Award through a recording contest. Examples could include a parody of a morning radio talk show, an "old time radio" play, or even a short commercial. Entries could be uploaded onto a Youtube channel for Uncyclopedia.
  8. A writing contest to improve subpar articles, preferably original concepts, which should be featured (e.g. Movie Of Lady Whose Ankle Is Showing). A list could be prepared by judges or volunteered by participants.
  9. A writing contest to bring QFA-articles to FA-status.
  10. An impromptu writing contest in which editors add a photo and caption to an article. The focus could be unused photos and imageless articles with the funniest one-liner being decided by a forum vote.
  11. A writing contest to feature the top 50 most popular articles on Uncyclopedia.
  12. A writing contest or collaboration to finish abandoned WIPs in honor of inactive/retired users.
  13. A yearly collaboration with foreign Uncyclopedias to develop an article that can be used on each website.
  14. A Star Wars vs. Star Trek themed writing contest involving editors from Memory Alpha and the Star Wars Wiki.
  15. A similar writing contest pitting editors from "other wikis" against Uncyclopedia (possibly as a tournament).
