Ah, so that's where MrN went. Some regulars all seemed to leave at the same time with no forwarding Talk page. Working on a few things on and off, James Bevel, HowTo:Reinvent the wheel, and stating up Yoga which I'll play with when the "writing about data and consciousness" mood comes over me. You could actually help with something if you would, and thank you if you do (and even if you don't). I've tried to upload the pic of James Bevel that wikipedia uses, and have its code on the top of the page but can't get it to produce anything. Would you try if you have a moment? I knew Guildy was a sure-winner, but I just saw he has over 20 FAs. Wow! I'd love to help you with Yoga (I spent 43 years and 3 languages learning the "types" of yoga, viz., Bhakti-yoga, Kriya-yoga (Karma-yoga), Astanga (hatha) yoga, and Jnana-yoga, which together make up Hinduism or Sanatan-dharma. Buddhists also follow "Jnana-yoga" as do Jains, etc. I'll take a look at it. How deep do you want to go? Yoga means "conjoining" (soul + supersoul, etc.). Yoga is kinda like sex, it has a means and an end (goal). Siddha-yoga is also part of Astanga-yoga (Patanjali-system), and 4 different sampradayas (sects) make up Bhakti yoga. So it could really be a riot of an article. I just did a timely one Jet Lag, as promised..but I'm not sure it might be better as a "HowTo:Beat jet lag" article instead? I'll do whatever you advise. Of course, it would be fun to collab with you. The page I "see" would pull out the tech and the results of Raja (Astanga sp?) Yoga, which, as you know, combine them all. The one-mind, the ability to "Be" what you "see" or "imagine", the total control of muscles, emotions, thought, consideration and intent, etc. etc., while keeping the funny. I've got a great pic to make fun of Hatha yoga, which most westerners think is yoga (a part of the system, of course, but just a part). The task: To summarize the data from the Sutras of Patanjali in a simple and funny format. Why don't we do the email thing for this. Mine is on file, please send a note to it and we can go in-depth on this. You may have fun doing an edit sweep of Tantra as well. Al! I tried to help with Tantra. Tan=Tanu (physical body) and Tra=trayati (free). If the angle is on sex then that's fine. But the Rama picture was out of place, being Vaishnav-tattva and not tantric. If you don't like it or can't use it, no sweat. But I had to try and help, and that's how I see it as funny.

Making Patanjali's 'astanga' (asta=8, anga=part) Yoga-sutra into a funny will be really hard because of the gravity of the subject. But as they are really after "siddhis" (powers of mind over matter) it could be a gas to be creative. Like HowTo:Blow yourself. There is something like that before using Bhagavat-Purana and made into Ancient Uncyclopedia, but it was kind of a dud on Pee cause people were not familiar with Vedic literature.

Nice, congrats. And the list is a very good history of music through the century, thanks for linking it. Everyone has their favorite music, yet this is an interesting and valuable source of some of the best. And your story, at some point one of the major TV newsmagazines in the states, or at least a cableshow, should tell your story. It would make a very good movie too, say take a few years there and you get a good mix of music, anti-war feelings, an American finding himself in India and what you went through there. I ran into a problem logging in even when I tried different browsers. Also my watchlist (or is now called following?) was publicly displayed on my user page, which upset me. I don't know how, because I had to create two socks when the entire name, birthdate, SS number, etc. was up, and then when I logged on it was just name and password again, which is the only way it looks like I can log on (when I sign up on most sites I just give random emails and birthdates, and don't remember them). June 2001: And the Moon Be Still As Bright a.k.a. Bradbury Revisited

Don't worry, I like Bradbury's works too. I think I have about 7 or so of his books lying around up here including one of those huge collections. Probably one of my favorite stories by him is "The Beggar on O'Connel Bridge" which is in no way a Science Fiction story. I just thought it would add a humorous twist if it was suggested that almost all of his stories aren't actually Sci-Fi and that he had just somehow ended up in the genre based off his early works. I heard that the crazy old dude used to lay off sleep to write if an idea came to him in the night because he never wanted to lose it. Even though a good number of his stories aren't "Sci-Fi" I like most of them anyways because he has a nice style to his writings and they always end up being interesting on some level. I think the D.C. matter is medical marijuana. California will vote on full legalization in November, and that's when we need everyone we know in Calif. working. Tantra, no, not ready yet, it feels like we need a few more edit sweeps and more funny. A little too many long passages where the funny doesn't break the serious up enough. We don't want to lose data, and the entire Tantra point of unconditional love for God/consciousness/void isn't brought out enough. Anything in particular that you think would be phrased better or need tweaked on Moses' magic explained? Also, I'm still debating on the surf thing. Hi Al! I've been on Tantra. Hope you like the additions. It is too bulky, and without headers or subheaders it's a lot of content to swallow. Kind of too long. Too much text becomes a blur. The original writer put too much drab content, so much that its a drag. It's like an padded and over-done Wikipedia article to start with. And kind of makes the same point TWICE. Also the last pic is sooo ugly as to be unfunny. If you want to show a Thai girl then lets show a Thai girl, bro! Either ugly slut or raving beauty. Check out these two choices for Thai girl pic.

Thanks for the Thai girls to anchor the sides of this page. I wouldn't partner on voidism, that's yours, but would be happy to do an edit look if you'd like. Crowley and others call the same thing the abyss. The joy is knowing that it's all a void/abyss, and then playing within it. I still quote your words about Uncy being a playground for adults, I'm still a bit surprised not more quality writers edit and write here. Tantra is a long way from completion, a feeling thing, but your edits helped greatly and how you segmented the page works well. Now trimming is the main thing, and I'll get back to that later too. The focus of the page on what is actually prolonged and/or extended sexual play works okay for part of tantra, and as I said, maybe some people will research it further on wiki and through quality materials. Sir Mordillo, hello. I looked at it earlier and put a link in and added the word "cyberspace" which Gibson invented--at one of his lectures I actually had him sign the page where the word first appeared--and will go back anew and see if that section, which read well, has changed. I almost added Neal Stephenson, Charles Stross (is that the name, I misspell it when looking it up), and Cory Doctorow, but adding names may make the article topheavy. Be back soon. Pretty much what I saw and liked earlier. I put a tweek into the last sentence to add P.K. Dick and smooth it a bit. I dunno. I like the Bite Symptom section pretty much as it is, maybe a few tweeks. The religion section is a one line joke that works pretty well by calling Hindu a Goddess instead of a religon. The transporter thing is pretty corny, should we dump that? I've got a feeling that a section is missing. I'll take a look at the wikipedia page and see what that one could be. Regarding the intro, the part that says spiders are sentient rodents. Well, I don't believe any of them are random; if we are going to have those parts about prophecies, cultures, architecture and shit, then saying that they are sentient, well, makes some sense. And it's funny too. And saying that they are rodents is not totally random either; but highly misinformed, because, you know, some of those home and garden spiders DO look hairy or furry (at least, where I live,) so mistaking them for rodents also makes some sense. Plus I want to keep it for the sake of the "spiders, being rodents, reproduce by laying eggs" line, it sounds funny to me (granted I'm an idiot, but you don't want to upset me, do you?) Send me one or a few), I always ask people to take a look and if they like it, please consider a vote, and often I'll ask if they don't, tell me what's wrong and why it won't gain their vote. I consider VFH as a larger pee review, and comments on the page are usually helpful. That's why I think HELPME is very important to a page, his approval is something I value because he usually can and will pick out very quickly what needs to be fixed, or what needs additional work. Having said that it is our duty to help out noobs, and I'd suggest you have a look at {{cquote}} as that can be useful, as shown in Uncyclopedia:Imperial Colonization/project. I've had my internet capped until the end of the calendar month, which is going to drastically reduce my ability to get on here. Can I rely on you to get Sci Fi through to PEE review by Monday? I'm not worrying about the fanboy stuff any more and I'm not stressing about the bradbury fight - even though I like that one quote. All I would like to see is some images included into it, and extending that conclusion. I was thinking of something along the lines of how the proliferation of Sci Fi is increasing and the amount of technological advance that has been coming through as a result suggest that we are likely to have the entire world destroyed by it in late 2012, but that's just a rough idea.
