Arcade (plural Arcades)

  1. Any row of at least three shops, esp. in a tourist information leaflet.
  2. A large dark room full of gaming machines; the juvenile form of a casino (archaic).
  3. The name of a mode in a video game where one actually plays the game instead of unlocking different parts of the game, simulating a career, or listening to badly acted voice-overs explaining your character's motivation.
