Adonians, The

1. A dining society that can be found in the (oldest) college of the University of Cambridge, the group consists largely of strapping young male rowers (also known as boaties). Its main events are held in the days preceding the Bumps races of Lent and Easter terms, days which are traditionally associated with carbohydrates, exercise, sobriety and, above all, manliness.
