Uncyclopedia talk:Consensus

Many protected or semi-protected pages have editing disabled in order to preserve consensus on contentious topics. As a result, many featured articles are either protected or semi-protected

Consensus, by its very nature, can and does frequently change. Consensus is prevented by protecting a page because it is saying "this is the correct version - people can't change it because that goes against a group of people who decided it was great two years ago". Wikis can be edited, but edits can be reverted.

Protection should be used for policies and heavily vandalised pages. The cabal can't stop the signal....
