  2. For I'd like to see it in an article, though, just to give it some Uncyclopedia context. Very funny, very well done, though. Strong Rad (Holla!) 13:56, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
  3. Reluctant for Reluctant because I know this will inevitably offend veterans/conservatives/anyone who is easily offended. Also, isn't there another chop of this where they're raising a McDonald's sign? Or am I just imagining that? --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 01:36, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

  1. Against, as TLB alluded to in his vote above, it is far too soon for more "The Americans like oil" jokes. Maybe next year. -- The Zombiebaron 21:19, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

  3. Agreed It's a well-chopped image and all, but it has been used before. Plus, yeah, we Americans know how much we like oil. We understand. We like it. --Mr. Monkey Sockmonkey.gif Pant-hoot here. 00:43, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

    • The 2 links syndrome has kindly provided are jokes containing the same source material its true..and one of them even shares the same target of the joke.It seems that lots of the source pics use in the images on the VFP have been modified for jokes at one time or another .Tbh i dont think either of them on their own are really comparable to the picture ive produced. The MacDonalds one looks a bit like my pic but has nothing to do with the subject and the other has a similar subject but is not even close to the picture ive produced.
  • The original IWO at Jima photo was a fake itself there was not resistance to the top of that hill and thats not the flag that was first put up either. The real picture was by Louis_R._Lowery.

Quote :As the flag went up, Secretary of the Navy James Forrestal had just landed on the beach at the foot of Mount Suribachi. He decided that he wanted the flag as a souvenir. Popular legend has it that Colonel Johnson wanted the flag for himself. In fact, he believed that the flag belonged to the 2nd Battalion, 28th Marines, who had captured that section of the island. He sent Sergeant Mike Strank (who was photographed in the Flag Raising picture) to take a second (larger) flag up the volcano to replace the first. As the first flag came down, the second went up. It was after the second flag went up that Rosenthal took the famous photograph "Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima" of the replacement flag being planted on the mountain's summit.. Now thats funny --VitalOD 04:03, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
