  1. Self-n♥m and w♥v. I'm gonna try this whole "self-nom" thing one more time. But I really like this article. It's very much a satirical joke, and I really hope that people get it. I had a pretty good review initially, which led to some improvement and now I have gotten word from the reviewer that it's ready for VFH. So here we go, I hope you guys enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Sir SysRq (talk) 22:07, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
  2. For Love the ARSE sissy, nice touch there. Sir Orian57~Christmas!~Talk Sc santa hat for signs.jpg 22:44 31 December 2008

  1. Too angry or satirically angry... whatever... the anger just wasn't funny. --Sir DJ ~ Irreverent OZ! Noobaward.jpg Wotm.jpg Unbooks mousepad.PNG GUN.png 06:02, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

  4. Confused against, with hopefully helpful comment. It might work better written "in character" by a stereotypical liberal (Volvo, arugula, "casual Fridays", wine, sushi) writing about the (stereotypical) South after having one bad experience after crossing the Mason-Dixon line, which could be tough to pull off well. As it stands now, the narrator isn't a specific character, making the page come off as just a rant, rather than a tale of comfortably middle class rage from guy who had to travel to the IKEA in Fairmont WV to purchase a replacement caster for his BESTÅ living room entertainment centre-slash-storage system after the one in Bethel Park, PA didn't have one in stock, only to discover (after arriving to locked doors) that the one in Fairmont (which, according to the computer at the one in Bethel Park, did have the part in stock) closes at 9pm on weekdays. That would turn it into an absurd rant, rather than just a rant. And if that bit in the middle doesn't help point you in a good direction, then I'm of no use at all. None! • Symbol neutral vote.svg Abstain.. I know what you're trying to do, SysRq, I just don't think it came across so well. :/ Necropaxx (T) {~} 08:12, Jan 1
Thanks, I really tried to tweak this (especially at the end) to make the joke as painfully obvious as possible to make it not seem like just a hate article. I didn't want Stephen Colbert syndrome to happen to me. But, looks like I may still have some fixin' up to do. Sir SysRq (talk) 20:23, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
  • As Before: I think it needs easily recognizable ironies beyond the generic hypocrisy of the author. The hypocrisy level does escalate but the hostility doesn't, being fairly static throughout. This article isn't VFH IMO but the rantings are about specific actualities instead of generic, which I think works better--DRStrangesig5.png Sherman.png Fingertalk.png  12:11, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Comment. Since this article is about a population in a sizable area, I presume much more can be done than just a one-dimensional joke about someone yammering one-dimensional comments on a generalised group. No, this is not ingenious, in my opinion. It is just boring. -- The Colonel (talk) 12:21, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Wide, sweeping comments about the entire subject are the center of this joke. My colleague Cajek has written a very nice article about The South that covers the rest of that area just fine, in my opinion. Sir SysRq (talk) 20:23, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
  • Comment this article is mainly poking fun at the hypocrisy of some liberals in hating all rednecks. It admit that it could have been better. However, he ran the risk of "offending" people if he wrote a longer article, or if he didn't bash the subject with the proverbial sledgehammer so hard that everyone can figure out that he's joking. --Mnbvcxz 20:41, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
