For + Rebuttal I don't feel that WotM should be denied to those who do not write articles in the mainspace. Good writers are good writers wherever or whatever they write. This is an award for celebrating those writers, and giving them all a nice little pat on the back by way of saying "Good job, keep up the good work," Only one of these writers can win each month, but I think that just the honor of being nominated alone is a pat on the back in and of itself. - I wish I found this site 6 months ago, the amount of time I've been unemployed. Hi guys. Here it is, New Year's Eve, and it looks like I'm set up to win this after two years of writing stupid crap that nobody likes. I can't tell you how honored, skeptical, suspicious, and paranoid I feel right now. I'm not going to vote for myself, because I know that the minute I do, I will lose. However, that is not the only reason I am not voting for myself. That is just the real reason. The fake reason is that I'm not even sure if I deserve it this month. Earlier this year, when I wrote UnBooks:My New Life as a T-Rex, I really felt like I deserved it. That was a great time for me. I had a hat trick under my belt, too, a feat not easy to achieve. I still remember STM getting his hat trick and just how impressive that was. I am truly proud of that accomplishment. However, this month is different. I have had two VFH nominations fail, and no successful features. I think of these "-otMs" as they relate to a user's performance in that particular month. Winning Writer of the Month for December 2008 wouldn't feel right to me. I've failed the community this month. This is not the month that I want to be honored for. I want to feel like I earned this. However, being the whore that I am, I will not take myself out of the ring for this month. Shit, that's a cool trophy. (Lookit that potato. Lookit that ol' boy. He's just hangin' out.) Instead, I want to just let you guys know that, while I may be honored this month, I am not being honored for this month, if you catch my meaning. ATOEOT is a great writer, too, and he, like me, has been one of those candidates that has been hanging on for months, waiting to be awarded what he earned months ago. - Jd227, who you can see is MIA, is the main contributor. Me and Syc have tweaked with it and I just added the photos/captions. I wish I could call it mine because it's very good. I had it on my Userpage at the bottom of my link list under the heading "links and categories" (because I added links and categories only)It was at the bottom after "Uncyclopedia entries" & "salvage operations" so I'm mystified why anyone thought it was mine. Being an ultra-n00b at the time, it seemed like a contribution of some sort but minor maintenance "triumphs" got purged from my userpage a few weeks ago. The only remaining link that I didn't heavily edit or add to is Toronto Maple Leafs which was a nasty re-formatting job that kept me busy awhile.
