No, Associated Press of course led with the fundraising success and only covered Governor White's disinclination to stand with President Obama as an afterthought. I heard the story first on radio--probably the Boston Fox affiliate--and they changed the emphasis.

However, while I personally delight in Obama's political problems (which I have exaggerated), it's better when stories bash both sides, and the thing about the radio story that struck me as funny was the parallel to the other party's pariah, George W. Bush. Spıke ¬ 17:31 10-Aug-10

Should it be "polls" or do Americans spell it differently? Rabbi Techno Icons-flag-gb.png kvetch Icon rabbi.gif Contribs Foxicon.png FOXES 17:37, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

"Polls" are the questionnaires; "pols" is slang for "politicians." Not standard English, but common in tabloid headlines. And we are nothing if not tabloid. Spıke ¬ 20:17 10-Aug-10
