This mac and cheese has been pardoned for all but its fat

WASHINGTON, D.C.- President Barack Obama announced today during the traditional Thanksgiving pardon, rather than pardoning a turkey, he was going to pardon a bowl of macaroni and cheese. This was in support of Michelle Obama's initiative for America to eat healthier, and for the nation to provide many more healthy options for vegetarians to eat. Michelle Obama's school lunch program and other health initiatives have received some stern criticism from those all over the political spectrum.

Obama announced his decision to go all vegetarian for Thanksgiving, eschewing totally the establishment of turkey pardon, instead pardoning a bowl of fattening pasta and cheese, because it would encourage Americans to not overindulge in turkey this year. While originally planning to completely abandon the traditional joke "pardon," Obama decided something without meat and that was not customary for an American Thanksgiving meal could be used instead.

President Obama plans to save all turkeys from unsavory "pardoning"

Those inside the White House found the measure unprecedented and unfounded in common sense. They questioned Obama's leadership at the dinnertable wondering why he did not just "pardon" a turkey like those before him, and as he did all during his first term. Wondering what exactly what the dinner would entail, Obama's Press Secretary Josh Earnest said that "I really wonder what we're gonna have. I don't want some garden burgers and tofu on Thanksgiving. This is America. We should have turkey. I am usually the President's yes-man, but nobody messes with my turkey."

Political commentator Glenn Beck was outraged at the President's action, saying that

Obama's action has received much backlash against the media, and commentator Bill O'Reilly says Obama is now waging a War on Thanksgiving. Even health experts such as Surgeon General Boris D. Lushniak said that if Obama wanted to seem sincere about his plea for eating healthier on Thanksgiving, he could have pardoned something a lot healthier than mac and cheese, which while lacking meat, is high in fat and sodium.
