SILICONE VALLEY, California -- Google, in unison with Royal Mail and FedEx, announced that it has yet another ground breaking new service for the computer disabled called "POST". As with the postal search this bridges the gap between the virtual world and the real world.
This revolutionary new service allows e-mails to be posted to another person without a computer. The postal address the e-mail is then typed in the Courtesy Copy bar (CC), the e-mail is sent to the e-mail address Postme@gmail.com, and a computer prints out the e-mail and posts it to the correct address. The recipient can then handwrite their reply below and reseal it into the envelope and return it to the sender. Google will then convert the letter back into an e-mail and send it back to the originator.
Google realises this newer technology is less advanced, but it is one step closer to the postalnet.
Google is now going to move on to making the postalnet faster and more responsive. Attachments to the postalnet system are the next step. Many different ideas are being tested such as magnetic strips, barcodes and even printing out the attachment. google is also going to supply Youtube videos are soon to be available via post as a DVDand podcasts as CD's.
This shift to inferior technology is casing outrage as some critics see it as pointless. Many believe that google is simply trying to boost its social appeal. however as with the postalsearch many ISP's are expected to follow suit. Some however fear that the postalnet will replace the internet.
