How do you find the units, then? 71.2.93.11
Finding the units is of course impossible, since there are none, but there is some subtlety which makes it even more impossible than it seems (bear with me): the largest triangle is in fact NOT a right triangle, since 9, 16 and 25 are not a Pythagorean triple. They look like it, because they are the squares of 3, 4 and 5, but they aren't. If the triangles aren't right then there's not enough information to solve the problem. My appy polly logies to anyone who thought my comment too serious, but oh well. --Wehpudicontok--Welcome to Vaporstory! 08:31, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
The answer is 0. 9 + 16 = 25, ergo the two legs are just a straight line and segments made out of the hypotenuse. The endpoints of segment h are the same point, so h has a length of 0. And zero is written unitless. Besides, if it was a different number, you would write it as h units. And just because it isn't a right triangle doesn't mean you can't find the height. --User:Nintendorulez 18:15, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
There is an answer to this question, other than the part about the units. Simply use Sine Law or Cosine Law to find the degree of the coner wher 16 and 25 meet, and then use pythagorean theorem to find h. Bobby Dudez.
ARGH! you're both right... except that you can't use the law of sines here... It's been a while since I took trig, I guess. I miss it. (Course, you don't need trig to see that Nin is right...) Also, "Bobby Dudez," please sign your edits. --Wehpudicontok--Welcome to Vaporstory! 00:52, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

On Math, I got 4 and 5, and I forgot the proof for 6. I got Reasoning 7. I got Linguistic 2 and 7. For Linguistic 4, I remember that it was made up as a theoretical disease in an attempt to show the foolishness of current scientific naming, but I'm clueless about the architecture part. What's my score? --User:Nintendorulez 23:03, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Uh, for #7 on lingusitcs, the antonym (opposite) of antonym is synonym. I changed it to synonym cuz i think thats the joke or w/e. their arent any synonyms for antonym btw.--Hindude 02:28, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Well, a synonym for 'antonym' is 'opposite', and you kinda said that just then, but... whatever

Answers?[edit source]

Sorry, I just had to have a go at this.

Mathematical section:

1. Let N equal the greatest whole number. Since 1 is also a whole number, infinity is N + 1.

2. An orange is orange. An apple is red. A pear is yellow. One apple costs 15 pence. Yellow + red = orange. Therefore, the cost of an orange is the cost of an apple plus the cost of a pear, or 35 pence. Since this is a free test, I am given no pence, and thus have no oranges.

3. The equations are given in the form "something = 0". I used a ruler to make the equals sign and the compass for the zero. Much of mathematical analysis in the 18th century consisted only of setting things equal to zero, and that trend will continue into the future. It will be of great help in aiding technology (as in terms of computers the 0's are badly losing the war against the ones.)

4. 25*9/16 = 14.0625 radians (radians are commonly written unitless, as in the diagram.)

5. Since the deviation from a true 90 degree angle in the paper is comparable to that in the set square, the percentage error is, at most, twice that of the set square, which is given as .0004%.

6. 2 + 2: let the first two follow the second's path, as such: image (sorry, I don't have an account yet)

7. Y = "7" - "-" + "\" , the minuses cancel out, and you are left with 7\, which looks suspiciously with a mountain with a platform sticking out of it. The only such mountain in the world is Mt. Manaslu, with an elevation 26758 feet. Thus, Y=26758. Y-100 = 26658. By the first question, (Y-100)/(infinity) = 26658/(N+1) = 231. (The reasoning for the value of N is similar to the Y reasoning used earlier.)

8. 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000C seconds. 'Begin' and 'end' indicate instantaneous time points, not intervals. C is forty percent of a zero.

9. [editor's note: font reduced from size 592] That is equivalent to 0^0, or glasses. Sunglasses cost $15 per pair, so 0^0 = 15.

10. If x^n+ y^n= z^n where n>2, look at the emot- icons formed. The guy with the shades wouldn't tolerate the goatee guy, thus proving it impossible, proving the theorem. [note: Originally had seven characters per line]

Reasoning Section:

1. Trade oranges for 105 pence. Trade apples for 30 pence. Buy nails and hammer with the 135 pence. Use hammer and to construct casing out of nails. Trade hammer back and buy explosives. Fill nail casing with explosives. Explode.

2. Your shirt is red. Seriously, look at it. Either I performed the miracle of foreknowledge, the miracle of telepathic shirt-dyeing, or you just stabbed yourself again.

3. My concerto is 4 minutes and 33 seconds of rests. This can be performed on piano, or on flute and drums, regardless of the availablity of the instruments involved.

4. The time limit for this test ends in 32 minutes. Tim will take 32 minutes.

5. Because Johnny senses an inherant injustness in unequal quantities of apples.

6. I rigged one of the springs to constantly vibrate on one of the keys, keeping time with rhythm. I rigged another to slingshot this test at the deposit location.

7. Skipped this question, will come back to it at end of test.

8. Ham exists. Bread exists. Therefore, Ham sandwiches must necessarily exist.

9. 0 and 0. It is possible to access the center without even touching the candy by carefully removing the stick, which is in a hole reaching to the center.

10. This statement is false is true. Therefore, false is true.

Scientific section:

1. Matter doesn't matter. Mathematics did not have anything to do with the development of science.

2. My appendix was donated last week. I used the scalpel as a weapon to break into the hospital and take it back. Everyone understood when they saw me drinking the whiskey.

3. Over there ------>. If it isn't, you're not grading it from the right spot.

4. This test is online, so it has no mass, and therefore there is no gravitational force. The scalpel was used to search inside my computer for any physical traces of the test.

5. The Fushestal Elementum theory states that the upper limit on computer graphics displayed is limited by the number of fushia pixels on screen. The latest pentium processer advertisment includes details of a new particle system producing more particles than fushia pixels, disproving the theory.

6. Done. No ill effects yet.

7. Neutrons are 1.6 femtometers across. That puts them well outside the visible spectrum, so they appear black.

No ill effects yet.

8. Shine a flashlight at something at night. There is light even in the prescence of darkness, proving that it cannot be defined as the abscence of darkness.

No ill effects yet.

9. An electron, because protons are fat. They're also lazy, not moving even in an electric current. They're also boring, just hanging around the even boringer neutrons all the time. I couldn't stand being a proton.

No ill effects yet.

10. They say "there is no God". A counterargument is "there is a God". Therefore, there is a God.

No ill effects yet. The bleeding hasn't stopped yet either, though. Maybe now would be a good time to start that question I skipped? Okay, I'm doing Reasoning question 7 now.

Linguistic Section:

1. Objective: scribe de broad in detail and be specific.

Okay, now there are some ill effects.

2. Brie.

This is getting kind of gross.

3. ANTIDISESTABLISHMENTARIANISM. I can press ctrl-c without looking at what I'm copying. Usually I just get in trouble, though.

Acute pain.

4. Pneu = new + mo = suffix meaning 'suicidal' + noultra = means 'saps superpowers' + micro = prefix meaning 'evil' (see Evilsoft) + sco = 'tasty' as in scones + pics = pictures + ili = !l! + covol = a type of Greek architecture + cano = a type of boat + co = company + nio = star of 'The Matrix' + sis = annoying.

Thus, Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis means 'a new, annoying, evil-but-tasty boat company that saps superpowers while taking pictures of the suicidal star of "The Matrix" !l!!l!' [note: originally, each plus was on a different line for clarity, but I figured I shouldn't be going against the autoformatter]

Major pain.

5. In about five more questions, as that is when the baseball game starts.

My left arm just fell off.

6. See scientific question 6.

My left arm just became sentient.

7. Antisynonym.

8. AargMan ( a superhero with the power of being under constant frustration)

My left arm just died. Again.

9. Plant the apple. Wait for a tree. Repeat until you have a sizable apple army. Sell excess apples for multiples of 15 pence to buy munitions. Use the pen to draft a declaration of war on Eastern Germany. Drive to the front with the car.

I can't feel my pulse anymore.

10. 13 letters. 5 syllables. First syllable is a hotel. Second is a homonym of 'D'. Third is an egyptian writer. Fourth is one of the two articles in the English language. Fifth is a toro.

I've just died.

Finally questions:

1. It will be cancelled at 15:32, after an hour and a half of delays.

I'm not quite dead yet...

2. B.

I think I'm getting better...

3. `C:k)~ = Mohammed?

No, wait, nevermind, I just got blown up. Sorry for the length. Feel free to remove this comment if it's too long.

Fours math is wrong but its possible if you are under the assumption that 16 and g are at a right angle which they would appear to be and even if they wern't you could still solve it with g as a variable, Assuming right angles=25squared-16squared=gsquared or=369; break 25 into 2 lines call 1 x the other 25-x then set up the equality 16sqared-xsquared=369-(25-x)squared you get 256-xsquared=-256+50x-xssquared, the x squared cancel out and your left with 512=50x so x=256/25, then 25-x=369/25, you can dow solve it from either direction the square root of (369-(396/25)squared)=12.29399854, which is the correct answer under the asumption that g and 16 are at a right angle which they are, if this is not the case do the same thing only use the leave the variable g in there do this yourself this took too much time. THE ANSWER 12.29399854... units for number 6 i wittly reprogrammed my calculator so whenever you type in 2+2 and hit enter it shows a 5 instead of a four, I also reprogramed it to say the square root of your mom as well. here is the program on a 83+, there is a shorter way of doing it in 5 lines but it doesn't work with the your mom part.

Lbl A
Repeat x="any large random number"
Input "",x
If x=4
Then
below is to get 5 to get your mom go to "mom" note keep the section above for both ways
x+1->x
End
Disp x
             "mom"
Disp"square root of your mom"
Else
Disp x
End
just run the program and unless you quit the program anytime you get four you get get 5 or anything you decide to put in that space.
