Some important things you should all keep in mind:

• The draft beings on Monday, August 2nd, at 00:00 Uncyclopedia standard time.
• There is a strict 24-hour time limit per pick--if you do not make your pick within 24 hours, one will be assigned for you based upon Yahoo!'s pre-draft ratings and your current positional need, if any.
• The only people who may "assign" a player to someone who has failed to draft in the allotted time are myself and Bradaphraser.
• For those of you who suck at picking players and/or have no idea what these pre-draft ratings are that I am referring to, they can be found here
• After you've made a pick, let whomever is going next know it is their turn by leaving a brief message on their talk page, or let them know on IRC or Skype or whatever.
• If you're going to be absent for a long amount of time, let us know, so we can account for that according.
• I will be making/renewing the league on Yahoo! very shortly, so I'll give you all the relevant information when I do.

Yeah, true, though I've been in big leagues like this before, and though the pickings are slimmer it's fun nonetheless because you have to be that much more careful when it comes to drafting/who you decide to play etc. The only downside is that the draft is going to take for-fucking-ever. —Unführer Guildy Ritter von Guildensternenstein 20:21, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

Good question. We're going to be using default scoring. TIPS FOR NOOBS! Your early draft picks SHOULD be a mixture of QB's, RB's and WR's. The best couple of TE's in the league are OK to pick relatively high but kickers and defenses should be picked deeper into the draft because they have the least scoring capability. Example: Last year I wanted to pick a good defense in the draft and not have to worry about doing "FA of the week" style play that had me analyzing matchups each week. So I went ahead and picked Tennessee's D a little high in the draft.........I would have been better off not drafting a D at all and picking through the scraps left behind after the draft was over.

In the interest of speeding things up, I have a proposal: if you have a pick autopicked for you for not picking in 24 hours, all your subsequent picks will be autopicked as well unless you become active again. For example, we had to autopick for Gerry because his 24 hours expired--rather than wait that 24 hours every time it's Gerry's pick, we'll (meaning Brad, DrStrange and myself) just automatically pick for him until he shows signs of life here at Uncyclopedia again. The Question of the Playoffs

So, before I actually make the league, there's one thing we haven't really talked about that we should probably resolve: how are the playoffs going to be formatted? Last year it was simple enough: eight teams meant a four team playoff in weeks 15 and 16 (I don't hold playoffs into week 17 for obvious reasons). With fourteen teams, however, things get a bit more complicated. As such, there are three options to consider:

• Option #1: A four team playoff, per how we did it last year.

• Option #2: An eight team playoff, with the playoffs going from weeks 14-16 (again, I don't like having the playoffs in week 17 for obvious reasons). This means that there will be just a 13 week regular season, and that each team will play every other team exactly once.

• Option #3: A six team playoff, done over three weeks, with the top two seeds from the regular season having a bye the first round. I prefer this option myself, as it most closely resembles the NFL playoff format, and makes the regular season that much more important, per the competition for those two byes.

Wow, so we already have the draft, then just up here we have the draft again, but without sigs and banter, to make it easier to follow, I guess. Now Brad's listing who's been selected by their team. Is there any chance at all that anyone with even more time on their hands can do a list, somewhere, of who's been picked by position? In alphabetical order? But my "system" is capable of throwing up names not on said list, rendering it useless to me. Still, it would be a lot of trouble for someone to go to just because of that. What do you guys mean? We've got 16 days to go through 4 1/2 rounds--that's about four days per round. At this draft's absolute slowest, it's take four to five days for a round. My advice to you and others....use the Yahoo Sports NFL team pages and hit the "depth chart" to look for undrafted starters. Right now, there's still starting backs, receivers and QB's out there. Look at the team by team list of picked players and see which teams haven't been scoured of talent as of yet, then go to the depth chart and start clicking on names....--    16:17, August 25, 2010 (UTC)

Or, just look the internet over for more predraft rankings--the ones on Yahoo! are hardly the only ones, I'm just going by those because we happen to be doing the league on Yahoo!, and the only reason we happen to be doing the league on Yahoo! is because I figured more people than not would have Yahoo! accounts. But yeah, anyway, NFL.com has rankings that are actually more extensive than Yahoo!'s, and CBS, NBC, and ESPN all have fantasy football pages with predraft rankings of their own, and that's not even counting the half-dozen major FF websites not directly affiliated with any major TV network. I don't know how to fantasy football. As you can guess, this would prove to be an obstacle. BUT THEN, I remembered the words of the great Mario:

Alright guys. First of all, I'd like to say that I'm both extremely pleased and extremely relieved that we managed to get this sucker done in a reasonable amount of time. Second of all, you're all probably wondering when I'll use my commissioner powers to put all of your respective players on your respective teams--that I'll be doing either later today, tomorrow, or over the upcoming long weekend.
