OK, I understand that we need to maintain a certain standard of quality here on uncyclopedia so it doesn't get flooded with stupid crap, but lately i've noticed that we have a problem with the extreme opposite: over-intelligent humor that the average guy like me doesn't even understand. Look, i'm not asking for farting retards getting kicked in the balls here, but could we dumb it down just a little? you know, stuff thats funny without a friggin degree. anybody else feel the same? --Storytime 00:11, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

Uncyclopedia is still not worst enough! It needs to be a lot worster!

On a more serious note, Storytime is probably referring to our featured articles having become more intellectual, which might very well be true to a certain extent. Similarly, the quality of articles nominated for VFD has slightly gone up compared to, say, a year ago. So it seems the standard of quality has indeed risen, if only slightly. However, there's definitely no lack of dumb articles around here, as should be evident from clicking here a couple times. Really? I care more about whether humour is "smart" or "dumb" than whether it's something trivial and pointless like "funny". If it's not "smart" humour, I can't pretend to understand it, then lord it over the "common man". The best jokes are the kind that both require explaining and, when explained (that, say, it's "...a delightfully insightful commentary on Richler's The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz...the book not the abysmally pedestrian film of the same name...from the point of view of Camus' Dr. Rieux from The Plague."), result, at best, in the "Ahhhh...yes. I know what you mean, Storytime. Sometimes there are FA's that I can't get without reading through 4 or more Wikipedia articles, and even when I finally understood the concept I didn't find them funny. To be serious for a split second here, I'd just like to say that I agree with Hiatus about understanding what Storytime is saying. But most of our articles should be generally easy to read (except for those overtly British ones, of course). In fact, here is a relevant article from that time. Also, if you want different articles featured, Storytime, then vote at VFH. There's a reason we don't require you graduate 6th grade to vote on these articles, to judge whether their humor IS accessible. That's why I always used to upvote or downvote every article on VFH, before someone complained that I always downvoted his articles. With all due respect Colin, so are so wrong that if you were any wronger the mass of your wrongness confined to such a small space would be similar to the spontaneous existence of a white dwarf in your backyard. Although we should be aiming to provide quality humour, we don't want to alienate our audience as a result, and we should be getting broad market appeal without falling into lowest common denominator humour. In short, it has to be accessible, but cool. My problem is that as far as I can see the bulk of what is on here is accessible humour, and I'm waiting for examples of what is "common man" and what isn't in Storytimes perspective. I have always felt Uncyclopedia humour is far too intelligent. It seriously needs to be dumbed down. It can then be called "Quality humour, LOL!!" For instance:
