Resolved issue: VFH hangs after voting using box
|
Description:
- After voting using VFH vote box, Firefox (possibly other browsers too?) seems to hang. It sits there and thinks. Meanwhile the rest of uncyc works fine. The two edits it happened for me on were these two :
08:33, 3 March 2013 . . (+218) . . Uncyclopedia:VFH/Uncycloversity:Rejection Notice (←Voted against) (top)
08:29, 3 March 2013 . . (+269) . . Uncyclopedia:VFH/James Cook (←Voted for) -Strainj1 22:47, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
- It's not just you; I also have experienced this hang, and it pisses me off because I (re)wrote the VFH gadget. Looking into it... ~ BB ~ (T) ~ Wed, Mar 6 '13 2:42 (UTC)

Resolved issue: Inability to read these fucking bug reports
|
Description:
These bug reports on a mobile browser are a nightmare. Some browsers won't allow a smooth scroll, and the smaller screen resolution means that what would normally be only one or two lines on a 1280+ resolution ends up being excess of 4 lines on lower resolutions. Can someone trick out a hide/show to extend the full thingy - similar to USP layout? Nominally Humane! 11:31 23 Feb
- Addendum - This line won't show on my mobile browser. The above stuff does. Nominally Humane! 11:32 23 Feb
- I got rid of the max-height+scrolling css style, so now they are all fully expanded. I wasn't loving 'em either, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. I would give the template the
mw-collapsible mw-collapsed css classes, but the .makeCollapsible() jQuery plugin (standard to MediaWiki) is total shit and pisses off people with older, slow computers. If the current solution works for everybody, I'll mark this bug closed. ~ BB ~ (T) ~ Tue, Feb 26 '13 2:25 (UTC)

Resolved issue: Aleister having trouble logging in
|
Description:
I haven't run across this anywhere on the net but here, and since not everyone is talking about it maybe it's my machine. Every time I log in here, "it" doesn't log in all the way. The green dotty things in the log-in bar go all the way across but stay there, it's always shown, all green but never satisfied. Becasue of this I can't do the search function, can't find in-page links, and some other problems. Can anyone help me (by sending me 20,000 in money in small monies). Thanks Aleister 16:22 8-2-'13
- Anyone? Hellooooo? I still can't categorize here or do almost any linking. Thanks. Aleister 21:33 11-2-'13
- Hi! Not really sure what you mean by the "green dotty things". I have no problems logging in or doing categorizations. Can you try clearing your cache? (Either hold down SHIFT and hit the reload button, or SHIFT+F5 or CTRL+F5) ~ BB ~ (T) ~ Tue, Feb 12 '13 1:14 (UTC)

Resolved issue: unne.ws/UnNews issue
|
Description:
- unne.ws articles will not display the corresponding talk page, even if it already exists. UnNews:"Don't worry, you'll meet somebody," says girl has a nice blue "Discussion" link. Click on it and you get the cybernetic equivalent of "if you don't know why I'm upset with you, I'm not going to tell you". The tabs on that blank talk page point to UnNews, [[Talk:UnNews talk:"Don't worry, you'll meet somebody," says girl|Discussion]] so they can't be used to go back to the unne.ws article from the missing talk page. Special:Allpages/UnNews talk: draws a blank. Weird namespace problem? Carlb (talk) 00:37, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

Resolved issue: VFH sub-page confusion. Also, the infamous "Array to string conversion on line 1522" notice
|
Description:
- I'm not sure if it's a bug or not (or if this is the right place to post this), but it seems quite odd that on VFH, the article's entry is different to the one on the full VFH page - For example - >this one on the main page< and >its individual page< - They're completely different. - Strainj1 07:44, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
- Looking at it a bit more thoroughly, It seems to just be an issue with that article - So I went to rollback my previous post (^) - and hit another issue - The message "Notice: Array to string conversion in /var/www/mediawiki/core/includes/User.php on line 1522" popped up at the top of the page. - Strainj1 07:58, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
- About the VFH thing: the individual voting page is actually an earlier VFH attempt which failed. The current VFH page is located here: Uncyclopedia:VFH/Don't vote for my dog! (don't vote), and is what appears on the main page of VFH. Not a bug, but it can be confusing. --Snippy 08:12, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

Resolved issue: Bots don't receive XML data correctly
|
Description:
Hi guys, I've found some issues regarding interwiki bots. Leaving appart the problem with the not working interwikis that you already know, bots can't retrieve the XML data from the wiki, sleeping endlessly what a lazy fag. It doesn't happen with the old uncy, so it must be a problem over here. Any ideas about what it is and how to fix it? KenbillBot (talk) 17:38, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
- I haven't had the least bit of trouble with my bot, but it may only be receiving JSON. However, the VFH gadget which I designed uses XML from the API, and *IT* hasn't had any trouble...that I know of... I will look into this further. ~ BB ~ (T) ~ Tue, Feb 5 '13 3:24 (UTC)
- Which interwiki bot script are you using? Our script path is different from wikia's, so you may need to adjust some configuration settings. Legoktm (talk) 03:27, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
- Don't worry, it's not actually a problem from uncy itself. Carlb showed the change to be made at unMeta forum and it is now applied to the uncyclopedia_family.py which I updated at Botwiki. So it's not an issue any longer :) Thx anyway KenbillBot (talk) 20:46, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

Resolved issue: Flash player
|
Description:
I recently added a Flash player to the UnNews main page so this is kind of a critical one. Whenever you get that warning message for Flash the "Do not show again" link doesn't work. It just brings you to the Uncyc main page and continues to prompt you. Could get this fix or disable this Flash notification altogether? --EMC [TALK] 01:27 Jan 21 2013
- Ok, it works if you add Template:Flash/disable to your User:<Username>/vector.js page, which used to be uncyclopedia.js on the old site. The Flash message needs to direct people to do vector.js. --EMC [TALK] 04:11 Jan 21 2013
- And it should direct them to Template:Flash/enable it all the time rather than disable it all the time. --EMC [TALK] 04:18 Jan 21 2013
- I am confused (I know nothing about all this). What is the benefit of having Flash? And why do I have to select 'yes' every time I go to the UnNews page? If all users have to do the above workaround, it seems offputting in the extreme! Leverage (talk) 14:29, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
- The workaround has worked for me, but i think it's horrible for new users, or casual users. A BIG plus for us here is that we dont have wikia's content warning. i think if we post links in social network places and users get constant messages asking about flash, it's really off putting. Is there anyway to make the default display non-flash, with the option to opt in? Leverage (talk) 18:24, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

- The interwiki link to Stupidedia (Austria) is bar: on every Uncyclopedia which links there except for en:, where the only interwiki for this wiki is de-st:. This will be a problem if a 'bot is used to create interwiki links as the 'bot is expecting the same language prefixes across multiple wikis. Carlb (talk) 00:51, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
- Links using the prefix
m: are also red. See Uncyclopedia:Rules for an example. --Tepples (talk) 21:26, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
- m: on Wikimedia is a link to //meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/$1 so m:Don't be a dick actually refers to http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Don%27t_be_a_dick - an essay on a WMF site. Go figure. Carlb (talk) 23:45, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Resolved issue: sigexpand CSS class not working
|
Description:
- CSS classes such as "sigexpand" don't seem to work. In Uncyclopedia_is_almost_full#.22Can_a_wizard_stop_the_freeze-drying_of_Uncyclopedia.3F.22, the image in You, the <span class="sigexpand"><span class="sighidden" style="position: absolute; z-index: 5"><div style="position: relative; height: 50px; left: 45px; bottom: 50px;">[[File:Lakota.jpg]]</div></span><font color="blue">hippie with your dirty hand up</font></span>. is always expanded in such a way as to block two sections of the article from being read. Carlb (talk) 00:46, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
- It works fine unless people try to put divs inside spans or the like. -— Lyrithya ༆ 02:36, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
|
Resolution: It's caused by people who don't know proper HTML putting <div>s inside <span>s

Resolved issue: Pee Reviews missing
|
Description:
- I noticed that the Pee Review list is missing a lot of the newest requests as well as the newest reviewed articles, but the newer ones still exist, like my Robert Fripp request. --Murder Frog (Argue loudly) Ride the snake...to the lake... 15:31, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- Yup, that's an issue with recently-imported revisions; need to manually delete each page and restore. Somebody will get on that. ~ BB ~ (T) ~ Sat, Jan 5 '13 16:05 (UTC)
- Pee review on Old and New Uncyclopedia seem to match up now. ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) 22:37, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- It still looks like the newest Pees are missing, both the reviewed and unreviewed ones. Is there something wrong with my brain? --Murder Frog (Argue loudly) Ride the snake...to the lake... 00:10, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
- There is nothing wrong with your brain. If you try editing those Pee Review requests that are missing from the Pee Review page by sticking in a space somewhere and then saving, it should resolve the problem. If not, I can delete and undelete, which should solve it. ~ BB ~ (T) ~ Sun, Jan 6 '13 9:34 (UTC)
- Okay, I got the newest ones to show up. Thanks! --Murder Frog (Argue loudly) Ride the snake...to the lake... 16:21, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

Description:
- lollol look at what happened in those pages I embedded pics, lol, someone take a screen shot please. Aleister minutes later
- Aleister, sweetheart, I believe that's due to this thing we're using called "HTML Tidy" which ...tidies up your markup. HTML's specifications say you can't use a <div> inside a <span>, I think, so when the server gives your computer the page, it has the <span class="sighidden"> part stripped out. So, yeah. Either we'll need to fix up these pages as we come across them, or else tweak HTML Tidy. ~ BB ~ (T) ~ Sat, Jan 5 '13 11:31 (UTC)
- We can't use <div> inside <h10> either anymore. —Sir Socky (talk) (stalk) GUN SotM UotM PMotM UotY PotM WotM 01:12, 6 January 2013
- a <div> element isn't valid inside an <h[n]> tag, according to the specifications, so use a <span> instead. ~ BB ~ (T) ~ Sun, Jan 6 '13 9:15 (UTC)
- If someone can take a look at getting the {{PopupImage}} template to work using {{#css: }} and handle input more sanely, that would probably be a good way to solve these. You'd just have to swap for using the template. -— Lyrithya ༆ 00:31, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
- You'll need to make sure all the pages are using working code, but I saw BB fixed at least the linked one, so perhaps that's what it takes. Closing this, anyhow. -— Lyrithya ༆ 18:18, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Resolution: Pages are being fixed with {{PopupImage}}; can someone please use {{#css:}} to fix that template?

Resolved issue: Absolutely-positioned article elements messed up
|
Description:
- The Internet page is having some real issues at the top of the page. I see a similar problem posted by TKF is under the "fixed" section, not sure if this is a similar issue, or if it is an issue that you all are currently fixing. Posting it here just in case. The Woodburninator Minimal Effort ™ 07:54, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- Has anyone seen any of this more recently? Is it still an issue? -— Lyrithya ༆ 00:31, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, still an issue somewhat; it seems mostly to happen on pages that use an absolutely-positioned element (such as a table) to position the logo, instead of just using {{logo}} or whatever the proper one is. ~ BB ~ (T) ~ Mon, Jan 7 '13 13:19 (UTC)
- Either this is a duplicate issue or something that should have been resolved by now. If it comes up again just... add it again, I guess. -— Lyrithya ༆ 18:18, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Resolved issue: Redirects show red links
|
Description:
- I found one Redirect that isn't working properly: Dane Cook. It isn't redirecting, and is instead showing a Red Link. But you can click on the Red Link, and it will take you to the correct page. I've checked a few other redirects, and they are working fine. Not sure if this is a problem with one particular page, or a larger issue. The Woodburninator Minimal Effort ™ 06:38, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- Edit the redirect, change any byte, save. Redirect starts working. This is a larger issue as it is happening with many redirects. The affected redirects are showing up on special:shortpages and are treated as ordinary pages by special:randompage. Carlb (talk) 09:00, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

- The /vector.js page was attempting to use the Yahoo! User Interface (YUI) library, which has been deprecated even on Wikia for a while. I attempted to fix it (and also tweaked the coding style and cleaned up your /vector.css page a bit) by converting the offending YUI code to jQuery — it's not a perfect 1:1 conversion, as BB told me yesterday, but I'm hoping it's close enough.
