I've looked in the site (http://www.g8italia.it/) to see if there are any copyright notices, but I found none.
The purpose of this image is to parody the "Desembarco de los 33 Orientales" ('Disembark of the 33 Orientals'), which is a historical event in the country, in which 33 "Orientales" decided to invade the land (which at the time was occupied by the Portuguese and the Brazilian) to fight for independence. The revolutionaries called themselves "Orientales" ('Orientals') because they were from "La Banda Oriental" ('The Oriental Strip'), which is the name they gave the land because it was situated east (= at the Orient) of the Uruguay river.
The parody consists in taking another more common meaning (almost always used in western culture) for the word 'Oriental': Asia.
The idea came from personal experience: one day a friend was at the Uruguayan International Airport of Carrasco and saw a lot of Koreans coming down from a plane, and said "Hey look, the 'Desembarco de los 33 Orientales'!".
