Wow, that's a big question. Alright, let's see....

First of all, humor is subjective, remember that as you move along the site. What makes me funny doesn't necessarily do it for you and vice versa, just a general rule. Second, at least for me, when I'm enjoying writing an article - this is what actually makes it funny. So, enjoy your writing - and don't write it as a "job".

Read some of the featured articles, they vary a lot - some are carefully designed, while some are complete nonsense.

Try to follow the formatting you see in those articles, in general, I think that big blocks of text and "LOL/ROFLMO/PWN/HAXOR" jokes are terrible, but that' me.

Don't try to reanimate the long dead jokes: skip Chuck Norris, Oscar Wilde, Your Mom and Russian Reversal, try to be original.

When you finish, place it on pee review so you can get some more opinions on your article from other users. And if you're not strong on the spelling part, you can get a spelling service here, free of charge.

I'm in the spreading ninjastar love mood (it must be spring). I tend to go back and tweak my stories and each time I read through one of them I'm struck with the notion of how hard audio really is. I gave a ninjastar to Zim earlier for somehow getting some of my other UnNews stories without having his head explode (he always stumbles onto the hardest stories...occasionally with terms like

suicidal dance frenzy" or

"...cabbage patched his eyes out with his bare hands...", (which I can't say out loud for fear of giggling) or

The IRC is indeed a chatroom (it's a short for Internet Relay Chat). If you're using Firefox, than you have to download an extension called - ChatZilla. Easy to use, and then just login and join tha madness! ~ 08:33, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

As for the pic - I think that the margins of it are too wide, so you need to chop it a bit. Try asking Spang about it, he always has good ideas. A general remark about template, before placing it as an "official" template, think if it actually have an added value to the humor of the article. The lord of damnation doesn't like templates, so you might want to consulate with him before putting it to use. However, you can always use it from your namespace. I find the jokes on this site like Informative and there is no info on IUDs and is there any other way for me to add some sort of punctuation that divides phrases within a sentence providing a place for the reader of that very sentence to pause and take a breath? I'm totally anonymous and somehow know how to find and ask users questions but have, also somehow, failed to learn how to sign shit, stuff and whatnot. Lastly, there's a rash on my bottom. thanks

First - just to let you know what I said on his talk page wasn't directed at you personally, just at the general onslaught against him on the VFD page. There is a very good expression for that in Arabic: Aleihum (meaning - on him or upon him....something like that). I feel that some fights in Uncync are just not worth my temper or my anger - this is one of them. First, sorry for the annoyance, that wasn't the intention. The AAN is actually one of the serious projects around here and intended to help people who have problems finding their way around Uncync. From your record and the way you actually edit things, it's clear that you're not an experienced editor - the fact that it took you 13 rounds of editing just to put yourself on the AAN list pretty much reveals that. Now, I'm sure that you have the best intentions and you do want to help - but there's a good chance you will actually cause more harm than good for now. That is not to say that in a few weeks when you grasp how things work around here you can just place yourself back there. Actually, you can do it now, but I'd recommend against it. If you want any help finding your way around, I'd be glad to help you. Once again, sorry if I was annoying, I tend to so and I am, after all, an annoying Jew :) ~ 09:39, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

I like it, but I don't think it will pass the VFH process, since it's too localized to interest most people, it's more like an Israeli in-joke. Usually, Unnews article that turn to a wider scope of people can get pass the VFH. It doesn't have to be a news related piece, it can be competly fictional, take a look at the previous featured unnews bits for more ideas... You did have some formatting issues, but nothing that serious, it will come in time :)

Please feel free to be insulted, it's on the house....:) Again, at the risk of being serious - I find that Catholicism has the tendency to simplify what is conceived, in its eyes, as divine - and makes it a bit too much easy to get away with "sins". I'm not talking about "divine" sins but more to the point that confession, as far as I know, can solve just about everything without encouraging the person to improve. Surprisingly, at its most fundamental level, I find that Islam is a much more sensible and practical (and surprisingly a benevolent!) religion. Judaism as well, in its more moderate streams, is a very sensible religion. Naturally, I say all this as someone born to the Jewish faith (even though I'm not religious) so I try not to judge other religion to harshly. Except for voodoo. I don't judge them at all. I love it! :) This sure is not Israeli culture - but good ole'Jewish one, and would make sense to any Jew. The only point he made that I agreed with was that he doesn't know what a Yenta is, and therefore the humor would be less appealing to him. However, that is why you put the Jewish template on top, so all in all, I think you're pretty much set with it. You actually got the humor part pretty good, the problem wasn't with that. Templates are usually not viewed as something that adds much to the site, we got tons of them. And Famine especially despises them. Other than that, the whole how-to-treat-IPs is a bit of a hot issue as well. The speed of the robots will be put to the test. If they are like Marvin, I will be faster. I am quickly creating a web of self referencing material, with lots of wikipeidia and other writing experience, re-using many unicycle terms, and only placing new pages where there is a wikipedia page and no unicyle page.

My intentions are good, and in my private opinion, a statistical pole will show my stuff funnier than most.

If unicycle people and objects are to delete my stuff rather than augmenting it, so be it.

I keep meticulus track of my stuff on my user page for all to see, and continually re-edit and proofread.

I have read all the pages you refer to, thorowly, last night.

They were sort of funny, but could use some help.

Jewish Holidays and the like

I reviewed it per your request. I like the text, but could I suggest an additional image towards the top in a requisit place? For some reason I just think that an article with an image at the right top looks dressed up a bit. The standard horizonital image is benign - a vertical one of an odd shape tends tell the mind that "hey, this is something different." I would also try and make it colorful - why? SOmetimes people are like cats - they need something bright and shiney to get their attention.

I have no idea where you got all of your background material, but most of it actually makes sense, even though you have to be Jewish, or preferably Israeli, to understand most of it...Ha'Tikva is actually one of the roughest neighborhoods in Tel Aviv, and its name (for purely cynical reasons) means: "The Hope".
